Good enough for me

My daydreaming is interrupted by feet coming up the stairs. I freeze lightly, already knowing who it is when the noise stops and a light sigh comes from his lips. I gulp slightly, continuing to look at the starts as my legs dangle down the tower. The floor creaks as he moves up, i gasp lightly as he sits next to me. I don't look over even though i can sense his eyes on me.

"Just another guy" he sighs lightly and i close my eyes as tears come to my eyes, the thought of ruining this with my stupid lifestyle coming to mind. As i open my eyes i look over at him, sniffing lightly. "Draco..." i mutter lightly, pleading as my head tilts. He nods as he looks down, nose pinkish as he breaths in.

"You have a rule" he shrugs, looking out weirdly understanding. My eyebrows scrunch lightly as i keep looking at him. I catch his eye again as he look back. "What?" He asks lightly.

"Why aren't you made at me? You were screaming at me weeks ago after our kiss? Why aren't you hexing me or never talking to me again?" I question confused but he just smiles lightly shuffling closer as he wraps an arm round my shoulder. "Im the closest you have ever gotten to a relationship. Thats good enough for me" he sighs as he looks up, while i am still staring up at him a smile on my lips.

"Draco..." i sigh lightly "you're making it really hard for me not to feel bad" i sniff as my eyes water. He chuckles lightly, but there's an extra shine in his eyes as he faces me. His hands land on my cheeks as we look at each other. "You don't want to end up like your parents. Who love each other and themselves and dont care about anyone else. The fact you think we're capable of that? That is good enough for me." He speaks out, gripping my cheeks lightly. Probably the most upset I've ever seen Draco...

"Even if you are the most caring person i could think of...and wouldnt believe for a minute you would be that selfish." He sighs out as he presses our four heads together. I sniff lightly as i can almost feel his sadness through his touch. "I am so sorry" i weep lightly and he leans up a smile on his face. "Dont be. We would be better as best friends anyway" he smirks "the wizarding world could not handle us" he scoffs, jokingly rolling his eyes. I laugh lightly as i look out to the sky again, my head resting on his shoulders.

"So you're just friends?! Are you kidding me!" V practically screams, storming out the bathroom with a straightener in hand. I roll my eyes as i look at her from the mirror "seriously V you need to get over this. Me and Draco are friends. Always have been always will be" i shrug, brushing mascara through my eyelashes.

"Yeah right. Great friends when he was shoving his dick in you" he mutters as she walks back into the bathroom, making me quite literally choke on air.

"Look i just want it to be normal. Don't make it awkward. I know the guys are gonna try but me a Draco were fine last night...the same as always." I sigh lightly, dreading going down for breakfast. "That's because you've always acted like a couple." She turns up her nose lightly as she walks out, lying her uniform on her bed as i send her a glare.

"Please V? It works for us. And im happy. Also I'd be way more affectionate if i was in a couple" i scoff as i turn around to her, her arms crossed with an eyebrow raised. "But seriously, was it good?"

A grin immediately came on my face and i wiggled my eyebrows. "Best I've ever had." I state as i turn back to the mirror Veronica's jaw dropping as she walks up, standing behind me until i look up at her from the mirror. "Ok but you've had a lot. Does he even hook up with people? He's practically celibate for you" she scoffs as she flips on her bed for more details

Draco's POV

Ed actually falls out the bed when i break the news to him. He quickly bounces up, floor on the floor as he holds his hands out. "You passed on the hottest girl in Hogwarts?! Are you stupid?" He practically screams as he stands, waiting for answers. I roll my eyes as i put my shirt on. "Relax. It wont last. It's Sophia Diamond." Blaise scoffs from his bed, crossing his arms calmly. Ed looks back and forth between us both with a huff.

"Stop addressing Soph like she's a chick we barely know. She's our best friend." I instructed as i button up my shirt, looking up as they look at me silently. "A hot best friend" Blaise scoffs after a while, getting up and walking into the bathroom. As he does i grab a pillow and chuck it towards him. His hand catches it with a light chuckle. "So not gonna last" he mumbles as he drops the pillow and closes the bathroom door.

"I disagree." Ed huffs as he looks at me, cockily. "With Blaise? Good, he's so idiotic he's failing potions." I scoff as i grab my Slytherin tie. "Yup. I know that Sophia is gonna run off to the first guy she sees to fuck you out of her system." He shrugs leaving me shocked staring at him. "Let's just hope she sees me first" he winks, heading out the door as my jaw uncontrollably clenches.
