(Thought I would post a pic of what Kalyn looks like in case you guys have trouble picturing her. She's suppose to have green eyes Btw)
I woke up abruptly to yelling from downstairs. I groaned as I rubbed my face. I grabbed the hair tie on my nightstand and put my hair into a messy bun before getting out of bed and walking downstairs. "Just give me the remote Donald!", "I already told you that it was my turn Joe!". "What on earth is going on here at 8 in the morning?" I shouted as both of them had their hands wrapped tightly around each end of the remote. Both appeared startled as they slowly released their grasp around the control and Joey set it down on the coffee table. "Nothing we were just.." Donald tried to say before I cut him off with my hand. "Save it, just no more fighting over stupid things, and if you do just do it when im not around. Now I'm going to go make some coffee for myself since I got so rudely awakened." I said as I started walking towards the kitchen. "By the time I'm back you both better be getting along." I shouted from the doorway of the kitchen. I sighed as I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a k-cup to put in our keurig coffee machine. I grabbed a white mug with gold polka dots. After the keurig had warmed up and pressed the start button and instantly the aroma of coffee filled my nose as I got out sugar, cream, and a spoon. As I fixed my cup I felt two strong arms snake around my waist as I got a kiss on my cheek. "Sorry that we woke you sleeping beauty." I heard Joey's voice say. I smiled as I set my cup down and turned to face Joey bringing my arms up around his neck. His bedhead hair stuck out on the sides as tiny pieces fell in front of his face. "So now your comparing me to a Disney princess?" I giggled as I brushed the pieces of hair from his face. "Well if it was up to me they would have already made several movies about you and girls would dream of being you." Joey said with a smile. "What makes you think that I would be a little girl's role model?" I questioned with a confused smirk. "Well, you are the only woman I know that can radiate so much kindness and beauty that it makes people envious at how effortlessly flawless you are." Joey said with a smile. "Quit buttering me up babe." I said with a laugh as I kissed Joey lovingly on the lips. The kiss deepened as it usually does, it made my stomach fill with butterflies and my head spin. I felt weightless. "Woe, if I wanted to see a early morning make out sesh I would of just walked to the park." We heard Donald's voice boom from behind us as we quickly pulled apart with a bright red blush on our cheeks. Donald walked next to us to grab a coffee cup. "Get some bro!" Donald laughed as he gave Joey a loud pat on the back causing Joey to scratch the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Donnie, stop teasing your brother." I smirked as I grabbed Joey's hand and walked out of the kitchen with my coffee cup in the other. I plopped down on the couch and grabbed the remote as Joey sat next to me. "By the way, it's my turn for the rest of the morning." I said with a smirk as I waved the remote in front of Joey's face. "Don't worry, it's all yours!" Joey said putting his hands up in a defensive manner. I smirked and turned the news on. I was one of those people who stayed with the times.
After a few minutes passed Donald joined us on the couch with a warm cup of coffee in his hand. We chatted the rest of the morning all in our sweatpants, I was wearing a slouchy tee with sleeping shorts while the boys just wore regular sweats with white t shirts. It turned into an hour of chatting before I decided to get ready for my day.
I followed with my normal routine, shower makeup, hair, clothes. I chose to wear black leggings, dark green v neck tee, oversized cream cardigan, dark brown uggs, and a gray chunky waffle knit infinity scarf. I finished the look with oversized diamond earrings and a cross ring. After I finished getting dressed I heard a knock at my bedroom door. "Come in." I said while fixing my hair in the mirror with hairspray and a few bobby pins. Joeys face reflected on the metallic surface. I smiled, "hey babe." I said. He returned the smiled as he adjusted the backpack straps on his shoulders. "I just wanted to come in a tell you I'm gonna be in the studio all day but I'll be home for dinner." He said. I fake pouted. "Ok just don't be late, I'll miss you to much!" I said forming a smirk to reassure him. "You look gorgeous babe, love you" he said before giving me a kiss on the cheek and wrapping his arms around my waist. I brought my arms to his shoulders and hugged him with the scent of his cologne filling the space between us. I breathed in the familiar aroma. We ended the hug with a quick peck on the lips, an "I love you", and with that he got in his car and left. "Kalyn grab you purse we're going on an adventure." I heard Donald call from down stairs. I rolled my eyes at his spur of the moment crazy ideas. I smiled while grabbing my sunglasses and my bag. I met Donald downstairs. He had to go cups of coffee waiting for us. "Don't worry I remember you like 3 spoons of sugar and a splash of creamer." Donald said with a smile as he handed me my cup. I thanked him with a smile and sipped as we walked the door and I locked it behind us with the extra key. "So where are we adventuring to today?" I asked as I walked with my arm linked with Donald's. "I thought we would do sight seeing, maybe walk through some parks. Pretty much do what ever interests us." Donald said with a slight smile as he admired the leaves changing into their fall hues overhead. "Can I be honest with you for a sec?" I asked Donald with seriousness taking over my voice. "Of course! What's on your mind doll?" He said in a chipper manner. "How was Joey after I moved away." I asked while watching my feet grabbing Donald's arm snugger so I wouldn't fall if I tripped. "Well... He got a little depressed. He prayed allot more when you first left. He would get so happy when he would get an update on you, which was surprisingly rare knowing how close you two were. When prom came around he didn't go, he said it was a thing that he promised you but there was no way of contacting you. The updates even ceased. He ended up not going to both proms or homecoming. He would just spend those nights writing songs on the piano and starting at the stars. When highschool was over with he moved to Nashville with me to try to start his music career off. At first he was ambitious. He believed he had a shot at finding you since it's where you moved to. After a few months went by he grew more and more depressed to the point he would barely leave his room. His faith was weakened. He didn't even look like himself anymore. When I asked him if he wanted to go to church with me he refused and that's when I knew I needed to get him help, he never would turn down a chance to connect with god. When I asked him why he said, 'If he's suppose to work miracles and answer prayers I should of had my Kalyn back already. I'm not myself with out her she's my other half.' Then he just shut down. I was running out of options so I talked with my pastor privately. He said that a local band was looking for a new bandmate after theirs when on to do a solo career. I was ecstatic that they were willing to work with Joey. Joey was bitter about the idea but after constant begging he went. I made sure he shaved, showered, and put on clean clothes. After I picked him up he just gave me a hug and cried. He apologized for his distance and lack of faith. And after that he had hope, he went on to sell thousands of CDs and do many concerts. His fan base grew with every performance whether it be local or out of state. He was finally happy again. When he finally found you he was shocked at your state, when he called me after he found you and you were sleeping at his house he told me that you were almost unrecognizable. I still heard a bit of excitement and relief in his voice but mainly worry and sadness. But he went on to tell me all his pain was worth it to finally find you again. You made him whole again Kalyn, I haven't seen him this happy in years. Thank you for saving my brother." Donald said a little chocked up. "He saved me way before I saved him, that's the reason why I truly love him. He gave me a reason to live again." I said with my voice cracking as I whipped a year from my eye. "Look at us were blubbering messes now." Donald said with a laugh as he whipped a tear from his eye. "Just hug me brothaa!" I said tearfully as I opened my arms wide and we engulfed each other in a huge bear hug. I buried my face in his chest as buried his face in my shoulder. Soon we are crying harder then we were before. After hugging a bit more Donald pulled away. "Now we need to stop our crying this is suppose to be a happy time." Donald said with a smile on his tear stained face as he cupped my face and whipped away my tears with his thumb. He always had been the brother I never had.
When we finally pulled each other together we entered a dessert shop. Cupcakes, doughnuts, and pies filled the space with an aroma of sugar and cinnamon. I picked a pumpkin pie doughnut with cinnamon spice icing. Donald got a chocolate filled glazed doughnut. We both ordered apple cider and took our food to a park bench that was outside. As we ate our food I thought deeper to our heartfelt conversation and I had to tell Donald my confession. "It wasn't Joey's fault that he couldn't find me." I blurted out putting my doughnut down and bringing my hands up to cover my mouth as I looked down in disappointment. "What?" Donald asked confused as he put his food down and put a calming hand on my shoulders. "My mother prohibited communication with Joey and you. She even blocked mama stamper from every thing. After my dad was killed she stopped believing in God all together. She said all he did was bring pain and that I shouldn't support that. That's why she prohibited contact because she knew your family is very religious. I feel so bad because I never even knew Joey had moved to Nashville. I was forced to loose my faith and that made me rebel and let the devil take over my body. When Joey was in the paper with anthem lights they were doing a local concert. I remember Joey and missed him so much so I went. When I saw how happy, successful, and strong in his faith I got ashamed of myself and left before he even had a chance to notice me. I didn't want to ruin any thing he had and worked for so I left and avoided any place they were or might be. I got into the wrong crowd and hooked on drugs... Then he came to the rescue and here we are, a week and a half sober." I said feeling relieved after I had told him that. I looked over at Donald who had his mouth slightly open with shock written all over his face. "I never would of thought of that ever happening. You are one strong girl Woods." I smiled as Donald kindly took my trash and offered his hands to help me up. "We better get home, we already spent 3 hours doing nothing." Donald said as we linked arms and started walking home. "Why don't when you get home call Joey and tell him I'm making dinner for everybody and bringing it to the studio." I said happily as I leaned my head on his shoulder as we walked. "Can't wait to see what your cooking taste like." Donald said happily. We bothed laughed heartily as we walked with the fall breeze gently hitting our faces.Life only gets better through mistakes and time, and mine, well it's gotten to the point where the princess find prince charming and he saves her from her past.
