chapter 14

   My alarm sounded startling both me and Joey from our deep sleep. "Do we really have to get up.." Joeys morning voice grumbled as he put his arm over his face. I giggled and pulled his arm from over his eyes onto his chest and looked at his face. His eyes slightly opened and he smiled. "What are you doing babe?" Joey said groggily as he shut his eyes again. "I just like to look at your handsome face." I said kissing him on the cheek. "I don't have to open my eyes to know that you are the most beautiful girl in the world," he started. I smiled. "But I will because the picture gets gets better the longer I look at it " Joey said with a wide smile as he opened his eyes. "C'mon let's get some coffee and start packing you up." I said with a smile and lightly poked him on the nose. "Not until this." Joey said before pulling me close and smashing his lips on mine. My hands went instinctively to cup Joey's face while his hands set wrapped around my back. "We seriously need to get up Joey." I said in between kisses. I pulled away and saw Joey sport a fake pout on his face. "We won't get much privacy for awhile." Joey said with a sad tone. "Babe, its not like I'm not gonna kiss you the entire month and a half." I said with a smirk as I helped Joey sit up a little. "Then just one more before we get coffee." Joey said with a small smirk as his eyes traveled to my lips. I smiled as I began to lean in with our lips joining in the middle. We both smiled into the kiss as Joey's hand rested in either side of my face. Joey was the one to pull away this time. "Now let's go get that coffee." Joey said with a wink before kissing my forehead and getting out of bed. I smiled as I watched him walk out of the room before slipping on my uggs and grabbing my phone and joining Joey in the kitchen. I took a seat at the island as Joey prepared two cups of coffee. I sneakily took a picture of joey making the coffee a sent it to Fallon and Kelsey with the caption, "got the coffee fairy working early today ;)". They both text back with picture if Caleb and Chad looking like they weren't even awake yet. Caleb was sitting at the table rubbing his eyes looking tired with a cup of coffee in front of him. Chad had fallen asleep next to his cup of coffee. I texted them both back in the group text with, "guess the triplets aren't morning people!" They both responded with laughing emojies.
    I looked over to Joey who was scrolling through Instagram occasionally sipping at his coffee. He had his cup almost finished and only looked a little awake. I had finished my cup pretty quickly but then again I was an avid coffee drinker. "Need another cup?" I asked him with a caring smile. "Yes please!" Joey said. I smiled and kissed his temple before grabbing his cup and walking to the coffee maker. As I hit the button on the kuerig our kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of coffee again. Joey thanked me as he took his cup from my hand. I sat down next to him and sipped at my steaming hot cup of sugared liquid. "What time do we have to start loading the bus?" I asked Joey. He finished his sip and sat his cup down before answering. "At 10:30 so we can get in our hotel before 10 p.m." Joey answered. "Well when your done with your coffee we can head upstairs and I'll help you pack before I have to get ready." I said as I put my hand in Joey's. "Thanks babe." Joey said as he leaned over and kissed my cheek.
    After we finished our coffee we headed upstairs and Joey pulled out his large suitcase from his closet. "Why don't you get your shower stuff and other things and  pick out some outfits and you can choose which ones you like when you come back." I told Joey as I started to pull shirts and pants. Joey nodded and headed towards his bathroom and after a few minutes he had everything he needed. So far I  had three outfits picked out. "I like them, just don't forget Ohio hoodie, I'm gonna get in the shower babe." Joey said as he kissed my cheek before grabbing himself an outfit and going towards his bathroom and shutting the door. The faint sound of running water soon sounded and I began to grab more outfits and placed them in the suitcase. 10 minutes had passed and Joey came out of the bathroom in a white T-shirt and light wash jeans with his hair shaggy from it being damp from the shower. "I got all your outfits packed just don't forget socks and undergarments, I'm gonna go finish packing my suitcase then get in the shower and then I'll meet you down stairs." I said started walking towards the hallway, "thanks babe!" Joey called after me. "Welcome!" I shouted back walking into my room. I pulled out a thin gray hoodie with some black leggings. I brought my outfit into the bathroom and closed the door as I started my shower and hopped in. It was a fairly quick shower since I had washed my hair the day before and always skipped a day in between washes. After the shower I slipped on ny clothes and placed my hair into a high ponytail. Luckily my hair had natural beachy waves which made a ponytail or even half up a go to hair style besides my messy bun. After I had gotten dressed I sat at my vanity and began applying my daily makeup. Foundation, light shimmering eye shadows, eyebrow pencil, classic winged eyeliner, two coats if mascara, baby pink blush, and my mint eos lipbalm. I sprayed some perfume on before slipping on a pair of socks and my uggs.
   I grabbed two zip up bags from my closet, one for makeup the other for toiletries. After I had made sure I had everything I zipped up my suitcase and set it by my door as I unplugged my phone charger from the wall and put it in my purse along with my ear buds. After I took one last sweep of my room I grabbed my suitcase and made my way downstairs to see Joey packing up his guitar. After he had zipped up his case he looked up at me with a smile, "you ready to go? By the time we get there it will be time to load up the bus." He asked me. By now his hair was completely dried and his facial features appeared more awake and alert. "Yup, you ready?" I asked him as I wheeled my luggage near his. "All packed and ready to go so let's start packing up the car." Joey said as he stood up and slung his guitar case along his back and grabbed the handle of his suitcase and we were out the door locking it behind us.
    Joey helped me put the suitcases in the trunk and we started driving. We went through a Starbucks drive through which was 5 minutes from where we were loading the tour bus. When we arrived chad and Fallon were already rolling suitcases up and Caleb and Kelsey were taking the boxes of food into the bus. Alan wasn't here yet but was on his way. He couldn't bring Brycie since the kids were already in their first  week of school. "Hey guys!" Chad shouted as Fallon helped roll suitcases under the bus. Me and joey waved as he opened the trunk and handed me my suitcase as he grabbed his and his guitar case. We reached the bus with them and began helping the couple. A few minutes after we arrived was when alan arrived with his wife and children who probably came to say goodbye. I looked over at Fallon who read my mind, "don't worry we don't depart for another half an hour, I was thinking the same thing." Fallon said as she rolled a suitcase to Chad. Alan had such a hard time saying goodbye to his girls so it often took them awhile to say goodbye which was understandable since they were a young family. "Auntie Kalyn!" Aj and Presley screamed as they ran towards me. I bent down and gave them a hug. "Auntie Kalyn miss you little bugs." I said with a smile. "We missed you more." Presley said. "I doubt it." I cooed as I tapped her nose causing her to giggle. "We got you something auntie for your trip." Aj said jumping up and down with excitement. "You did?!" I questioned in a happy tone as I saw Brycie walk up holding a tiffany blue gift bag with Alan holding Rowe. "We decided to get you a little something to remind you of home while your away." Brycie said with a smile as she handed it to me. "Thank you so much you two." I said standing up to give them both a hug and give Rowe a kiss on the cheek. "You girls want to help me open this in the bus?" I questioned with a smile. Both of them nodded excitedly as the grabbed my arm and pulled me to the entrance of the bus. Once inside kelsey was putting the last of the groceries away and caleb was breaking down the boxes. They waved with a smile as I sat down with a kid on either side of me. I held the bag out. When I count down from 3 you guys start unwrapping okay?" I said to the girls with a smile as they nodded
   "3....2....1!" I counted down and the two girls tore threw the wrapping paper and tissue paper to reveal a super plush white throw blanket that easily felt like a baby puppy and tan moccasin slippers. I smiled wide. "We knew you'd like it." Brycies voice sounded from above me. I looked up to see Brycie and alan standing in front of me with kelsey playing with Rowe in the background. "Thanks soo much you guys, you really didn't have to." I said putting the items temporarily back into the bag. "Well we all know how easily home sickness can come and since you've finally had a home that felt like home we thought you'd want a cozy reminder." Alan said with a smile as he picked up Presley who ran up to him wanting to be picked up. "Well it was very thoughtful of you." I said as they sat down next to me. Joey and the others soon joined us. After we spent a few last laughs before we hit the road it was time for us to leave. We all bid farewell to Brycie and the kids who did not take it well and began to cry which made Alan tear up a little. I gave him a side hug as we watched them get off the bus and into their car. "They never were able to say goodbye with a smile on their face if I was going to be gone more than  a few hours." Alan said still staring at the door. "Well I'm sure they are very proud of you. Aj told me to tell you she wants you to bring back gifts." I said with a giggle as we all went to sitdown. Alan just smirked to himself, "I always have to bring her back something." Alan said with a small laugh. I sat at the end of one if the couches we had, Joey had left me and extra space. He kissed ny cheek after I had sat down. I smiled before leaning down to grab my new blanket from the gift bag. I curled myself in it and curled up next to Joey leaning my head on joeys chest as I un tangled my head phones and plugged them into ny phone. I looked up at joey who was looking down at me with a slight smile on his face. "Is it ok if I-" I started to ask but was cut off. "Its seven hours before we get to Chicago, totally understandable and recommended if you want to take a nap. Go to sleep Kalyn I'll be right here." Joey replied with a smile as I noded and placed my earbuds in my ears have music fill them as I drifted off into sleep with joey wrapped protectively around me.
