Thirty One

Nunew was transferred in a private room in the afternoon. Zee helped him during the transfer and even bought more snacks for him. He has stayed with Nunew until the evening and they have chatted about anything under the sun.

Nu was looking at the twinkling lights outside his window when Zee got out of the washroom. He was sitting at the edge of the bed as he faces the window

"Penny for your thoughts?"
Zee said

Nunew looked at him and sadly smiled.

"It's just sad that Ive lost so much"
Nunew told him

Zee sighed as he looks at the your man. He walked towards Nunew.

"May I sit with you?"
Zee said. It felt weird to ask as he wouldve just sat down and hugged him but this is a different situation. He needs to be delicate with Nu.

Nunew gave him a small smile and nodded.
Zee sat down next to him.

"Its just very unfortunate that I have lost a lot of memories. Im sad that I cant even recognize some people. Losing something I dont know feels awful"
Nu said to Zee.

"You know, you didnt lose anything. Its just locked away for the mean time. Whenever you're ready, they'll come back again"
Zee said as he looks out the window too.

"You havent drank the water from river lethe. So you should be fine"
Zee chuckled as he recalls their first conversation.

"River Lethe? The greek myth?"
Nu's eyes widened at the mention of lethe.

Zee stares at Nunew with his sad longing eyes, he sighed and looked back at looking at the lights.

"What is your opinion about the myth of drinking the water from river lethe to forget your past memories?"
Zee asked.

He looked at Nunew with a sad smile on his face.

"Someone who is very dear to me said that he would drink it if it means he get to be with the one he's fated to meet again."
Zee said Nunew's words back to him

Nunew then shut his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows. He put his hands on his head, indicating another migraine.

Zee stood up infront of Nu and gently removed his hands

"Let me"
He told Nunew.

Zee massaged his temple again, making sure that he doesnt put pressure on the bandaged area. He stares at Nunew's pained expression as he does so. It breaks his heart whenever he sees Nunew in pain. Now he understands why their parents separated them before, seeing the person you love in constant pain whenever they try to remember is heart breaking.

Nunew slowly opened his eyes and Zee removed his hands. He smiles at Nunew and sat back down on the bed.
Nunew still looks at him with a question in his head.

"How do you know exactly what to do when I have them?"
Nunew asked.

Zee glanced at him as he chuckles.

"I used to have that before. Somebody special usually massages my head like that, and it works like magic"
Zee explained

Nunew furrowed his eyebrows
"You've lost your memories too?"
Nu suddenly asked

Zee bit his lip, he doesnt know how to explain without opening a pandora's box.
Fortunately, the door opened and Fah came in, saving him from giving an explanation to Nunew.

"Hi maemae!"
Zee immediately stood up and helped him with the bags.

"Hey sweetie. I see you've been chatting well"
Fah smiled as she eyes the two
