Thirty Nine

Zee and Nunew were in the train sitting comfortably in their coach. Fortunately, the next train has lesser passengers than the last one so they were able to get a good seat.

The two were sitting next to each other as they travel to Busan. Nunew's head is in Zee's shoulder while Zee's arms is around his hips. Nunew is watching the window while Zee feeds him some Pocky.

Zee offered him some water after they finished the snack and Nunew sat up straighter to drink. Zee has his elbow on top of the table and his chin on his hand. He stares at Nunew with a soft smile on his face.

Nunew looked at him as he drinks.

"Hia is there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Nunew asked after he put the cap back on the bottle.

"Nothing, im just happy that you're here."
Zee said to Nunew. He took his hand and laced their fingers together.

Nunew looked at their hands and sweetly smiled. He lifted Zee's hand up and put a kiss on his knuckles.

"I thought I was too late. I thought i wouldnt catch you in time"
Nunew said while he plays with Zee's fingers.

"When did you arrive in Korea?"
Zee asked.

"I arrived like 2 hours ago. I rushed here to catch you. I came as soon as P'Net told me you're here"
Nunew put his head back on Zee's shoulder as he hugs his arm.

"You went to the office?!"

Nu nodded.

"I went looking for you when I got my memories back. I went to the house but you were not there, so I went to your office"
Nunew explained.

"You went to the house?! Wait what exactly happened?!?"
Zee asked Nunew again

Nu took his hand bag and took out the photo of him and Zee at the poetry event. He turned his body so he is completely facing Zee. He handed the photo to Zee as he smiles at him.

"I was making myself busy to not think of you. So i decided to clean up my wardrobe. I saw that at the bottom of my drawer. That photo, is my trigger point"
Nu said.

"I was planning to give that to you and exchange it with the one you have. But i didnt get a chance, here look at the back"
Nu said as he flipped the photo.

"I love you without knowing how,
or when,
or from where.
I love you straightforwardly,
without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep."

Zee read the poem at the back and looked at Nunew.

"I already knew i was falling for you back then. I was falling too fast, too deep and i couldnt help it. Something is pulling me towards you, but i find myself not resisting. The more I do, the more dig myself deeper."
Nunew told Zee.

He took the photo from him and ran his finger on the photo.

"When I saw this, its as if a wave crashed on me and drowned me in memories."
Nu smiled softly

"It must have been so painful."
Zee said as he worried.

Nu nodded at him.
"It was. I thought i would faint"

"Im sorry I wasnt there"
Zee said as he touched Nunew's cheek.

"Hia, its a small price to pay to get my memories of you back. I would have endured something more painful if that means i get to remember everything again"
Nunew took Zee's hand and kissed his palm.
