The glade woke with the first light of dawn, and Y/N found herself rising early once again. Gally's absence in the hut indicated that he had started his day even earlier.

With a shrug, Y/N made her way to the dining hall, where the other gladers had gathered for breakfast. She grabbed a plate of food and found a seat among the group, exchanging morning greetings with those around her.

Breakfast done, Y/N set her sights on the builders' area, eager to embark on her new role. Along the way, Newt flashed her a supportive smile and wished her luck, lifting her spirits.

As she approached the group of builders, Y/N caught sight of Gally frowning and grumbling to himself. "Great, I get stuck with the girl," he muttered under his breath, his displeasure evident.

Ignoring Gally's grumbling, Y/N joined the other builders, a determined expression on her face. Gally, still wearing a scowl, began instructing the group on their tasks for the day, his voice clipped and curt.

"Alright, listen up," Gally began, his tone brusque as he addressed the assembled builders. "We've got a lot of work to do today, so let's get to it."

Y/N listened attentively as Gally assigned tasks to the other builders, his grumpiness palpable as he avoided meeting her gaze. When it came time for her task, Gally's instructions were terse and dismissive.

"Y/N, help the others with building your hut," Gally said curtly, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Undeterred by Gally's attitude, Y/N nodded and set to work alongside the other builders, determined to prove herself despite the grumpy Keeper's demeanor.

Throughout the day, Y/N lent a hand to the other boys, her superhuman strength making the task of building the hut seem like child's play. The other builders watched in awe as she effortlessly carried heavy logs and set them in place, her efficiency far exceeding their own.

Despite Gally's glaring frustration, Y/N found camaraderie with the other boys. Laughter echoed through the air as they worked together, sharing jokes and jests to lighten the laborious task. Y/N's easygoing nature won over the boys, and they appreciated her contribution to the construction.

Gally, however, maintained his grumpy stance, shooting occasional glares at Y/N when he thought she wasn't looking. His frustration grew as he observed her effortlessly lifting and placing logs, making the task seem trivial.

The midday sun hung high in the sky as the bell's resounding chime echoed through the glade, signaling the arrival of lunch. Gladers from all corners made their way to the dining hall, their footsteps converging in a rhythmic procession.

Among them, Newt and Y/N found themselves seated together, their plates filled with the day's offerings. The atmosphere buzzed with chatter and laughter, though Gally remained aloof, his gaze fixed on his meal with a brooding intensity.

"How's your day been so far?" Newt asked, genuine curiosity in his tone as he glanced at Y/N.

Y/N smiled, a sense of contentment evident in her reply. "It's been great, actually. I'm really enjoying working with the other builders."

"That's good to hear," Newt remarked, nodding approvingly. "You seem to be fitting in well."

Taking a bite of her food, Y/N couldn't help but voice her concerns. "I just wish I knew why Gally seems to hate me so much. It's like he's avoiding me."

Newt offered a reassuring smile, his eyes reflecting empathy. "Gally's always been a bit like that, but don't worry too much about it. He'll come around eventually."

Y/N nodded, hoping Newt's words held truth. "I hope you're right," she replied softly, the uncertainty still lingering in her mind.

Finishing their meal, they bid each other farewell and returned to their respective duties, the chatter of the gladers filling the air as they resumed their tasks, with Y/N's thoughts drifting back to Gally and the mystery of his animosity.

Y/N joined the other builders once more, her hands deftly assisting in the construction of her own hut. Together, they continued their work on constructing her hut, the rhythmic sound of hammers striking wood filling the air.

The day had been productive, and by the time dusk approached, they had made considerable progress. The main structure of Y/N's hut stood tall, a testament to their hard work and determination.

As the other boys started to pack up their tools and call it a day, Y/N felt a knot of unease tightening in her stomach. She couldn't shake the feeling of tension that had been lingering between her and Gally ever since their shared moment at the bonfire the night before.

With a deep breath, she made her way over to Gally, determined to confront him and put an end to the awkward avoidance that had plagued their interactions. With determination in her eyes, she approached him, her voice steady despite the nerves fluttering in her chest.

"Hey, Gally," she called out, her voice tinged with determination.

Gally turned to face her, a scowl already forming on his face. "What do you want?" he snapped, clearly annoyed at being interrupted.

Y/N squared her shoulders, steeling herself for the confrontation. "I need to know what your problem is with me," she stated bluntly.

Gally's scowl deepened, and he crossed his arms defensively. "I don't have a problem with you," he retorted, his tone dismissive. "You're just imagining things."

Y/N's jaw clenched as she fought to control her rising anger. "No, I'm not imagining things. You've been acting distant and cold towards me ever since I arrived," she insisted, her voice growing sharper with each word.

Gally's temper flared at her accusation, his patience wearing thin. "Look, I don't have time for this," he snapped, his voice laced with irritation. "The truth is you're an annoying girl who can't mind her own business. And you don't belong here."

Y/N's jaw dropped in disbelief at his harsh words. "I can't believe you," she shot back, her voice rising with anger. "You're just a rude and arrogant jerk."

Their argument escalated into a heated exchange of words, each hurling insults at the other with growing intensity. The tension between them crackled in the air, thick with animosity and resentment.

Finally, unable to bear it any longer, Y/N stormed off in one direction, her footsteps echoing with determination. Gally, seething with anger, turned on his heel and stormed off in the opposite direction, his jaw clenched in frustration.

The rift between them seemed to widen with each passing moment, leaving a bitter taste lingering in the air as they parted ways, their unresolved conflict hanging heavy in the air.
