Christian.

"I don't hate you Christian! I love you!"

Her words ran around my head like bunnies bringing me back to my senses. I had blinked several times before my eyes were full of tears. I didn't understand the meaning of the word relief until this moment. Hazel didn't hate me. How come that sentence was bringing me so much happiness? I'd never been so ecstatic before.

"That was not funny Hazel, I thought that I really thought -"She broke my sentence by taking me in her embrace. She was warm and tiny like a baby monkey. I draped my arms around her little body and scooped her inside my arms."I love you." I kissed her forehead, my arms tightly wrapped around her shaking torso."Please stop crying baby. I hate it when you cry."

"Then why do you make me cry? Chris, I can't tell you how worried I was!" She began bowling again not understanding just how much her cries tore my heart. I simply admitted to her by nodding my head. I deserved this. This was my fault.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. I will never do it again. I'll not leave you alone no matter what." I squeezed her as to make her stop crying but she cried even more. What should I do?

"Hazel please don't cry." I pulled her away from me and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. She was pouting adorably as her big eyes stared at me.

"Not even when, you go on gang shootings? Will you take me with you?" She tugged at my shirt and glanced up at me with hope. If cuteness could kill, I would be dead by now.

"I'll think about it." I kissed her wet cheeks.

"No, Promise me." She lifted her hand and pressed her pinky finger on my chest. God this girl got more adorable with each passing second. Somebody, please save my heart!

I was about to grip her in my arms again but we were interrupted as her phone suddenly rang. She quickly picked it up."I know Jay. We are coming." She slid her phone in her pocket and got up. "Chris, we've got to move. Now!"There was alarm in her tone, and the little adorable girl who was weeping just a few seconds ago was gone.

I knew it was Jayson she talked to and my blood began to boil. How many times was he planning to interrupt us?!

"What's wrong?" I got up as she opened the door and peered outside.

"Chris, we have to run away from here. That is the plan. Uncle is on his way. I'll explain everything in the car. Let's just go!" She grabbed my hand.

"Wait ;what?" I couldn't even react properly before we were running towards the elevator.I decided to quietly follow her even though running away wasn't my style.

Hazel was panting heavily as we entered the elevator. She stabbed the ground floor button many times and the door automatically closed.

"Wait, how come no one was on the floor just now?" If my memory was correct, this floor was swarming with people when I walked in here before. Why was it deserted now?
