April.

What I saw on Lara's face was sheer terror. Like a prey feels when the predator captures it. Like there's no way out.

"No way..." She murmured but I could hear it because that's how silent everything had become suddenly. Everything was stilled as if time had stopped.

Then a single shot fired. It was faster than a blink. For the first time, I felt my chest twisting. What was that?

The big guy which was in a suit whom I presumed to be Lara's father fell. Then began Lara's screaming.

I let go of Christian. It was when I realized why I needed his support. My legs had become jelly. I had no power to stand.

"How could you!?" Lara shrieked.

"I will kill you!" She picked up a gun from below but Christian's men stopped her. Her figure kept shaking, hands and legs kept kicking the air around her in vain.

"NO!" Her voice was cracking. Tears were never-ending.

Why did she look so familiar to me?

"Take her away." Christian muttered.

Her voice went far away and then I couldn't hear her shrieks anymore.

"Hazel?" Christian gently touched my shoulder.

"You okay?" He said.

How could he be both ruthless and gentle? He just killed Lara's father making her cry a river. He killed almost all of the men who were standing in our way when we walked out.

"Yes." I could barely speak. My throat was dry and I didn't know why I was feeling unsettled.

"Is there any room left that doesn't have blood?" Christian asked one of his men.

"Only your room is spotless sir." The guy answered.

"Hazel let's go." Christian took my hand and dragged me back into his room.

"It's half-past ten already." Christian muttered looking at his watch.

"Let's sleep now, okay?" He looked at me.

"How can you act as if nothing happened?" I blurted out.

His eyes darkened. "I'm used to it "

"But you just-"

"Hazel." He cut me off. Before I could even blink he was enveloping me in his arms.

"Didn't you already know that I was a monster?" His warm breath touched my neck making chills run down all over my body.

"Chris-"

"Shhh." His lips pressed on my ear. My heart was higher than necessary and it was probably not good for me.

"Didn't you know what family I belong to?" He whispered into my ears.

I wanted to concentrate on what he was saying but all my mind was getting smitten was by his deep masculine voice. Damn.

"Didn't you realize that I kill people?" He leaned down to kiss my neck. Was he doing this on purpose?

I tried not to gasp at his touch. Oh God.

"I kill people that are not worth living on this planet anymore." He continued.

"If you think that I've done some kind of a bad thing then why are you here in my house, in my arms? I shivered at the tone of his voice.

"It's because I-I trust you." I realized that even when I had just seen him killing people with a straight face I still wasn't afraid of him.

"Good." He kept showering hot kisses to my neck. I felt like I had forgotten to breathe.

"Christian," I breathed, my chest rising and falling.

Instead of replying he came up to my face and his lips locked into mine.

After that not only did I forgot what happened a few minutes ago and it was like all of the pain in my chest had disappeared and I was flying somewhere among the clouds.

Christian.

Hazel had fallen fast asleep but my eyes couldn't even blink. Her face and her words kept ringing in my head loudly and it disturbed me.

How could you act as if nothing happened?

If I kept thinking about what I did I would get killed before I could even decide whether what I did was wrong or right.

This world is too cruel for people like Hazel. She views everything in either to be right or wrong. There are times when whether what you're doing is right or wrong doesn't even matter.

Killing someone might sound disturbing to many but what if the person getting killed is the route of all evil in your life? What would you do to that person then? Let that person keep making your life a living hell just because it is wrong to kill someone?

I was raised in a family where gunshots were heard every day and killing was normal. I was ten when I was handed a real gun and I was fourteen when I killed a person.

Hazel will most definitely hate me as she will get to know me better.

I just hope I would be able to stop her from hating me again like I did today.

"Wake up." It was her. The feeling of her being beside me in the morning sent warmth all over my heart.

"Morning Hazel." I said with my eyes still closed.

"Christian! We will be late for school!" Her tone was higher but still soft. I loved how she talked.

"Fuck school!" I cursed and I heard her gasp.

"Bad boy!" She hissed and started pinching me.

"Seriously?" I got up suddenly and she squealed.

She was in a hurry to climb out of the bed but I grabbed her arm, pulling her to me.

"You're not getting away missy." I kissed her neck and she kept giggling. Peace. Her laughter was peaceful.

"I don't want to get away." She smiled as she kissed my cheek. Damn. My face felt hot.

"You're sexy when you say such things." I muttered in her ear. It was her weak point. As expected she shivered when I pressed my lips to her ear.

"I don't have anything to wear." She cupped my face and moved it away from her.

"Wait." I climbed out of the bed and opened the cupboard which stood next to it.

I could feel her eyes on me while I shuffled through my wardrobe. I picked my favorite dark red shirt and threw it at her.

"Wear mine." I smirked.

"What? This is a guy's shirt!" She whined.

"Do you prefer to go to school wearing nothing perhaps?" I questioned and she grunted.

"I'm so sure you would love to see that! Pervert!" She got up and rushed into the bathroom with my shirt and a towel while I just kept smirking at her the whole time.

The thought of seeing her in my clothes sure was exciting.
