Sunday went similarly to Saturday did with Emily and JJ.

JJ couldn't get out of bed by herself. She wouldn't talk or move. Emily managed to get her to eat a bit, but not much.

When JJ fell asleep Sunday night, Emily was beginning to lose hope. She'd told Hotch that they wouldn't be at work that week because JJ wasn't feeling well. Emily knew that if things didn't change soon, she'd be forced to take her to the hospital.

On Monday morning Emily woke up early. She was watching the news and drinking coffee when she heard noises coming from upstairs.

She was about to get up and see what was happening when she saw JJ walking down into the hallway.

Emily nearly jumped off the couch. "JJ, hey, hi," she murmured, pressing her hands to JJ's face to make sure she was real.

"Hi?" she said, confused. "What time is it?"

"It's almost 9," Emily told her. "How do you feel?"

"I have a headache," she said, rubbing her eyes. "It's already Sunday? How did I sleep through the entire day and night?"

"Baby," Emily said softly, putting her hands on JJ's waist. "It's Monday morning."

JJ looked around, even more confused. "What do you mean? That's not possible," JJ stated, shaking her head. "I couldn't have slept for 2 days straight without waking up. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Do you remember anything? What do you remember before this morning?" Emily asked. "I... I went in the bedroom to go lay down. You yelled at me!" JJ was starting to get upset. "This doesn't make any sense, Emily! What are you talking about!"

"Just listen to me, okay?" Emily said, trying to calm her down. "I woke you up on Saturday, but you were out of it. You weren't talking or moving on your own. I was worried about you. It was the same all day Sunday. You were awake, but you weren't there. That's why I was so surprised you got out of bed this morning."

JJ couldn't tell if Emily was messing with her, because it all just sounded so unrealistic. "I don't understand. I don't remember any of that! If it's Monday, why aren't we at work?"

"I told Hotch we were taking this case off. I wasn't sure how you'd be feeling. It's normal to not remember, you were sick. You just needed some time to recover," Emily responded.

She led JJ over to sit down on the couch. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she'd lost two entire days. She didn't remember a single thing.

"I couldn't do anything?" she asked again. "I didn't even get out of bed?"

"You did a couple of time," Emily told her. "I helped you."

JJ cuddled closer to Emily, holding onto her tight. "I love you," she said quietly. "You didn't have to do all that for me."

"Are you kidding?" Emily laughed softly. She pressed a kiss to JJ's lips. "You're my wife. For better or for worse, in sickness and in health. I'm always going to be there for you."

"Always?" JJ looked up at her.

Emily cracked a smile. "Remember before we got married and we were working the case with that crazy cannibal guy?" she asked.

"The case where I got shot in the stomach? I think I remember," JJ remarked.

"When you got home from the hospital you stayed at my apartment. That was the first time you'd stayed over that long. You couldn't do anything on your own. You couldn't get up, shower, even go to the bathroom by yourself. You were so embarrassed the whole time I was helping you. You kept saying that I didn't have to do it," Emily told her.

"It was humiliating," JJ whined, burying her face into Emily's shoulder. Her cheeks began to turn pink.

"Do you remember what I told you then? I will always be there to help you when you need it. I think I've proved myself so far," Emily leaned down and kissed JJ's nose. "So to answer your question, yes. Always."

"That weekend goes into my top five most embarrassing moments ever," JJ mumbled into her shoulder.

"I've seen you pee a million times. I don't see what the big deal is," Emily laughed, stroking her hair.

"We had just started dating!" JJ groaned. "That's not exactly the best way to kick off a relationship."

"I don't know, seems like it could've been worse," Emily shrugged. "You could've refused to let me help you and wet yourself. Would that have been less embarrassing?"

"Emily!" JJ whined, a small giggle leaving her lips.

Emily closed her eyes and savored the sound of JJ's laugh. She felt like she hadn't heard it in forever.

"I've missed your laugh," Emily said, tucking a strand of hair behind JJ's ear. She was still laying on top of Emily, but shifted herself so she could look at her. "You're getting sappy," she responded.

"You've made me soft, Jareau," Emily sighed. She pressed another kiss into her hairline. "I can't imagine my life without you."

JJ got quiet again. "I don't know how to do this, Em," she whispered. "I don't know how to live without her."

Emily knew she was talking about Mia. "We're going to figure it out," she told her. "We'll do it together."

Since they hadn't gone out on the case that week, Emily and JJ spent most of their time at home. Emily consulted over the phone, but JJ couldn't even get herself to learn the details.

It was finally Sunday, which meant both of them were going into work the next morning.

At around seven pm, Emily walked into their bedroom and saw JJ curled up in bed. She was watching something on her laptop.

Although it was not nearly as bad as the first two days, the whole week JJ had been shutting Emily out. She didn't want to talk about it, she just kept to herself.

Emily sat on the edge of the bed next to her, stroking her hair. "I was going to go pick up some dinner," she told her. "Want to come with me?"

"I'm not really hungry," JJ responded, not looking away from the show. "Just go without me."

"We need to talk," Emily said, reaching over and pausing JJ's laptop.

"Em, I really don't want to do this right-" JJ was cut off by Emily. "I said we need to talk," she repeated.

JJ just stared at her. She didn't say anything. Her lips were left in a pout.

"I can't let you rot in bed forever. I know this feels like the end of the world, but it's not. There's so many other good things that are waiting for you," Emily told her.

"I just can't, Emily," JJ sighed. "I feel exhausted just getting out of bed. I can't do this."

"You can. I know you can." Emily wrapped her arms around JJ's waist, pulling her into a hug. "You're so strong. Much stronger than you think you are. You just have to keep getting up every morning."

"It's too hard," JJ whispered, burying her head in Emily's shoulder. "It's hard. It's not 'too' hard. You have to start somewhere. Which means getting dressed and picking up dinner with me," Emily told her.
