Until I Found You

I woke up in the middle of the night, due to my phone ringing, Rahila Ma'am calling.

"Jai Hind Ma'am, what happened?" I asked in a hurry.

"Rush to the base now." She just said and cut the call. What the actual fuck happened?

I got dressed and immediately rode my bike to the base, this time it was the silence of disappointment, not the chaos I expected like the last time.

"Ma'am what happened?" I asked entering her cabin where she was monitoring something on the screen.

"Okay so the deal is, a special force of 15 soldiers was deployed for a special operation, and they had drones and technical access of their own but now everything is reported destroyed and we can't reach them." She said with tears in her eyes, fuck I forgot she is pregnant, that's why emotional, because at times like this, Rahila Ma'ma is the one who motivates us all.

"Okay, what do we need to do?" I asked leaning on the table to view what she was monitoring.

"I was checking the list of drones, because that's why we need to deploy asap. But we need to program two of them, the other two are ready." She said.

"We will get to to as soon as possible." I said and was about to exit when she again spoke up.

"I just hope that it doesn't get too late." She said softly. her husband is also a RAW agent, who is always away on dangerous missions, and then this kid in her belly, she is afraid but doesn't ever shows that. I think she is going to retire soon, and Sir too, as they have always wanted a happy and small family and life.

"Don't worry Ma'am, we will get them." I said and hurried out.

"Shail, Aakhti. Bring those drones, the prepared and the unprepared ones too." I said and they both went off, and came back with the four drones. Our team is small but very strong and efficient. We had seven members on tech and three on field work, and our Ma'am, Rahila.

All drones were prepared in 15 minutes and handed to the field members who went out to deploy them. We got behind the monitors to view and lead them. I had my fingers crossed, please be safe everyone out there.

Finally after 30 minutes, we saw the commotion and reached the coordinates provided to us, the men were shocked at first and was about to shoot, but then I guess saw the Indian flag on the machine. They were visibly relived, they withdrew the earphones attached to the drones and we connected the mics. Four people were coordinating with them from here, and we got the report that 4 of the men had died, and that broke my heart.

Rahila Ma'am came to us and instructed us to lead them back to the Army base safely, and the four people got into the work of leading them, commanding them and alerting them.

"Ma'am, four are reported to be dead." I said to her, and she took a deep breathe.

"They were just soldiers, Ms. Agrawal." A deep voice spoke up from behind her whom I had fail to notice.

"Shanaya, this is -" Rahila Ma'am started in her already done tone.

"Mr. Anshuman Khurana, I know." I said and he extended his hand for shake with a sinister smile.

"And they weren't just soldiers, Mr. Khurana. They were someone's family and source to live, but how would you know that." I added sarcastically.

"Ouch, but true." He replied walking closer to me.

"I get that you are the feisty type, but that won't work here." He said leaning into me, while I want nothing else than to just punch is smug face, what an arsehole!

"Careful, Mr. Khurana, or I might think you are falling for me." I said and turned back to go to my team and watch them. The soldiers were back to base in almost 3 hours, and the dead bodies were brought back too.

I was too stunned to speak after seeing them, bullet pierced right through their hearts. That's why I didn't chose field work, or went into police, although my recorded were damn good, and Papa wanted that too, but I wanted to follow my passion of coding and hacking and also I can't really bear violence.

I felt someone tap my shoulder, and turned around to see Rahila Ma'am standing there.

"Beta, your mother called, she was worried. You, Aakhti, Sonam are allowed to go, you guys have been here for almost 24 hours now." She said in a low tone.

"It's alright Ma'am, you are the one who needs rest." I said holding her.

"Yeah, my driver is here, I am leaving." She said and then glanced around a little as if to make sure that no one is listening.

"That Khurana is your competition, he is here to replace me, but you are the one who should take my place. Keep up your guards beta." She spoke quietly and went away patting my head.

I watched Khurana slide like a snake through the crowd of officers inside the team cabin, how much I like to punch his perfect jawline face. Asshole!

I checked my phone, and saw Mumma's msg, asking me to come to xzy shop whenever I get free. I sighed and went to the parking getting my bag from the seat. I was still dazed from the bodies I saw, and their picture repeating in my mind.

I am sure that I looked like a zombie when I entered the shop, because everyone was eyeing me like hawks eyeing their prey. I recognized Dadi, as Riya told me earlier about her. I went and touched her feet, and she blessed me.

I tried to see her face but just then everything blurred and I fell, a pain shooting up my body to head as I landed on ground. I felt many hands grabbing me and I lost my consciousness.
