I am feeling nervous all of a sudden, I know that Lakshya is a perfect gentleman and won't harm me in any way, but I am just shy right now to go infront of him like this. Freaking in his lower and shirt.
I unconsciously sniffed it, and it smells just like him, whiskey and wood. With all my confidence I stepped out of the washroom, looking around the room to spot him, and he was lying on the bed comfortably.
The sudden reality of us sharing a bed dawned upon me. I guess he noticed my inner dilemma and woke up slowly.
"Shanaya, if you are not comfortable, I can sleep in the guestroom or sofa, just say the word." He said softly to me.
"Nahh, I want you close to me tonight." I said looking at me feet, because I just can't muster up the courage to look at him right now.
"Okayy my kitten, come here." He said settling me on the bed and tucking me in like a baby, while I looked at him. My husband is handsome.
My husband, oh how it soothes me to say it. He got a sharp jawline, siren eyes, and the perfect face structure. I don't why he runs the entertainment company and not in it. After tucking me in, he made his way to the other side, and made sure not to cause any problem to me as he slipped inside the covers.
I slowly started shifting to him, while he slept with a hand on his eyes and as soon as I was close enough, his on hand snaked under my waist and pulled me to himself.
As I nestled into Lakshya's embrace, a wave of warmth washed over me, chasing away the remnants of nervousness that lingered. His touch was gentle yet reassuring, like a safe harbor in a stormy sea. I felt his steady heartbeat against my back, a comforting rhythm that lulled me into a sense of security.
"Are you comfortable, kitten?" Lakshya whispered, his breath tickling my ear.
I nodded, unable to find my voice amidst the swirl of emotions coursing through me. Being in his arms felt both exhilarating and surreal, like a dream I never wanted to wake up from. Lakshya's fingers traced soothing patterns on my back, sending shivers down my spine. His touch was electrifying, igniting a fire within me that burned with a fierce intensity, and my skin was not habitual of it at all.
"Shanaya," Lakshya murmured, his voice filled with tenderness, "I love you more than words can express. You mean everything to me."
Tears welled up in my eyes at his heartfelt declaration. In that moment, all my fears and insecurities melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude.
"I love you too, Lakshya," I whispered, my voice barely audible above the gentle hum of the night.
We lay there in silence, cocooned in each other's embrace, our hearts beating in perfect harmony. Time seemed to stand still as we basked in the warmth of our love, savoring every precious moment together.
As the night deepened, I felt myself drifting off to sleep, cradled in Lakshya's arms. In that moment, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, as long as we had each other, we could overcome anything.
I woke up with feather kisses on my face and me being cradled by my husband.
"Goodmorningg wifey." He said sweetly.
"Goodmorning dear hubby. Now, let me go, I have my first rasoi today." I said trying to wiggle out of his arms, but where I am 5'6, he is 6'2, I don't ever stand a chance against him at all.
"Please tell me you don't know how to wear a saree, so that I can help you." He said when I fianlly wiggled out an stood at the end of the bed.
"Your mind is corrupted from all that movies of bollywood mister." I said flicking his forehead softly.
Lakshya chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he pretended to nurse his injured forehead.
"Hey, I can't help it if I've been influenced by Bollywood's romantic antics, I freaking own the whole industry. But seriously, do you need any help with the saree? I'd be happy to assist." He supplied with a grin.
I shook my head, laughing at his playful antics. "Nope, I've got this. I may not be a pro, but I can definitely manage."
With a grin, Lakshya hopped out of bed, his tall frame stretching as he reached for his phone. "Alright then, I'll leave you to it, but that doesn't mean I won't give anything to to help you anyways."
As I watched him leave the room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of love and gratitude towards him. Despite his busy schedule and countless responsibilities, he always made time for me, always went out of his way to make me feel loved and cherished.
Turning my attention back to the task at hand, I rummaged through my wardrobe in search of the perfect saree. After much deliberation, I finally settled on a beautiful blue silk saree with intricate gold embroidery, a gift from my mother-in-law and Mumma when they went shopping together. I have lost count on how many shopping sprees these ladies have been.
With trembling hands, I began the intricate process of draping the saree, silently cursing my lack of expertise in the art of saree-wearing. But with each pleat and fold, I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me, knowing that I was one step closer to embracing my new role as Lakshya's wife, the Mehra's eldest daughter in law.
After what seemed like an eternity of struggling with the pleats, I finally managed to drape the saree to my satisfaction. Taking a moment to admire my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at how beautiful I looked.
Just then, Lakshya re-entered the room, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of me. "Wow, kitten, you look absolutely stunning!" he exclaimed, his gaze lingering on me appreciatively a little longer, which made my cheeks burn up.
Blushing at his compliment, I twirled around, the soft silk of the saree swirling around me in a mesmerizing dance. "Thanks. I guess I managed to pull it off after all."
Lakshya stepped forward, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close. "You always manage to exceed my expectations, Shanaya. I'm so lucky to have you in my life."
I melted into his embrace, feeling a rush of warmth and affection wash over me. In that moment, surrounded by his love, I knew that I was exactly where I belonged-in the arms of the man I loved more than life itself.
