CAM'S POINT OF VIEW

"I ACTED ENTIRELY in accordance with the information Miss Carlyle brought to me. It's a pity she wasn't more forthright. Many young lives might have been spared," Cam sat next to his father, who's face held no emotion.

Cam glared silently at Jacobs as he listened to the lies that came from his mouth.

"And you heard no cries for help, nor any indication of a disturbance, until Miss Carlyle emerged from the building and there was nothing more that could be done?" the judge asked him once again.

"None whatsoever,"

"You're lying," Cam said quietly, "You were right there in the doorway, watching and listening as Lucy cried for you to help! You just stood there before leaving us like the coward you are!" he got progressively louder, before he was standing, and his father was holding him back.

"Quiet, please! You'll speak only when you're spoken to," the judge reminded him sternly, but he didn't care.

This is such bullshit.

"In the cases of the fatal ghost touch, of Alfie Morgan, Joy Young, Paul Bell, and Abraham Kosta, I hereby rule by death by misadventure,"

Cam dazed out as the judge gave her decision, no longer listening to what she may have said.

Jacobs shouldn't be allowed to work as an agent still. He should be gone. Cam thought bitterly to himself.

He sat on the edge of his bed, staring at the bare wall in front of him. Cam sat in his room quietly, feeling less at home here than back at the agency, when he was with Lucy and Norrie.

His room was small, and held no life in it. It had a bed, a wardrobe, a set of drawers and that was all.

He didn't look at his father as he walked into the room, not knocking first before entering.

"Are you done moping around yet?" he asked, but there was a tone in his voice that Cam recognized. His father didn't care, he just wanted Cam out and earning more money.

"Why do you care?" he whispered, looking up at his father who stood near the door.

"Because this is my house, and I get to decide whether you've earned the right to be staying under my roof. And you, young lady, have not earned anything. So I want you helping your sister. Now,"
