CAM'S POINT OF VIEW:
BY THE TIME THE TEAM HAD returned home, the sun was peaking out from the horizon, the cloudy night sky slowly fading into a murky blue backdrop.
The effects of Annie and Cam's little adventure down in Bickerstaff's basement had begun to wore off on the trip back to Portland Row, however everyone was still sightly jumpy and had tingles going through their arms and bodies. Cam knew that those sort of reactions were common for agents after any sort of case. His vision and hearing had returned to normal; thankfully he couldn't smell or hear any blood or screaming anymore.
Lockwood unlocked the front door and the four agents behind him all walked in, everyone having decided what they were doing next, "Okay if Luce and I dive into Bickerstaff's papers?" George checked with Cam, who had handed him the large leather-bound book of notes on the train ride back.
"Go for it,"
Cam paused in the hallway as Lockwood slid the Skull's bag off your back, "You okay?" he asked gently, brows creased slightly; Cam quickly gave him a small affirming smile back, "Yeah,"
"Need anything?"
Cam shook his head, "No, I'm fine. I just," he glanced down at the ghost jar, "I need to put him away for a bit. After tonight, he can't be trusted," Without a word (only a small unsure look in his eyes) Lockwood handed over the large bag, and Cam headed down the hallway, through the kitchen and down to the storage room.
It was significantly colder down there than it was upstairs, since there was no heating.
Cam lightly shoved a box of iron filings out of the way, placing the Skull in it's place with a large clunk.
"Is there really such a need for these measures?" the Skull complained like a whiny teenager; Cam rolled his eyes, "I hate that I can hear you even when I shouldn't," he grumbled.
"Is he still talking to you?" a voice said from behind him, catching the boy off guard, "Holy sh- Annie did you follow me down here?"
The girl shrugged nonchalantly, "After tonight, I wouldn't trust Skully over there as far as I can throw him," His lips perked up in the corners at the nickname, while the Skull did quite the opposite, blasting out every curse word and insult it had collected over time.
"I do not deserve such a pathetic nickname!"
Cam scoffed at its words, "Right, sure you don't, it suits your bright personality wonderfully," "It's thanks to me that you found those papers tonight,"
