FIVE YEARS AGO

Hyunjin's pov:-

[29 January]

It's been about a year since Felix, and I became this inseparable duo. Though now it's more like a trio as Kevin who's my childhood best friend has been hanging out with both of us, You know how it is-life throws you together, and somehow, you just click. But there's something about Felix, you see? I mean, yeah, I started out wanting to get close to him for reasons and noone knows about it except Kevin but now... now it's different. I feel like day by day my feelings are growing for him.

Anyway, our first friendship anniversary was coming up, and we decided to do this "friendship date" thing at this cozy joint called Stayz Dining. I Spent ages looking for the perfect spot, and I think I found it. Felix loves handmade stuff, so I made this card for him. Nothing fancy, just a sketch I did of him and a poem. Simple, but I hope he likes it.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner in two weeks. I've been thinking, maybe it's time to spill the beans about how I feel. It's nerve-wracking, but exciting, you know? Just counting down the days until I can finally lay it all out there.

The dinner spot was a bit far from our house, and I had no intention of letting my parents or driver in on the surprise. So, I reached out to Felix's elder sister, Rachel-she's sweet and just two years older than me. I confided in her about my plans, and she happily agreed to give us a ride. As evening approached, I found myself eagerly waiting outside our mansion for Rachel's arrival, excitement coursing through my veins. Today was going to be special-I could feel it.

As the sleek black car pulled up to our mansion, Rachel rolled down the window, her smile infectious. "Get in," she beckoned, her voice laced with excitement. I eagerly complied, sliding into the backseat and settling in.

As I turned to the side, my breath caught in my throat. There he was-Felix. His mere presence made my heart race, and a warmth spread through my cheeks as I took in his captivating appearance. He looked absolutely stunning, a sight to behold.

With a quick nod of acknowledgment to Rachel, I shifted my attention to Felix, offering him a sheepish smile. "Hey," I greeted, my voice soft, yet laced with a hint of nervousness.

Felix returned the greeting with a warm smile of his own, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Hey, Hyune," he replied, his tone cheerful. "Thanks for organizing this. It's gonna be fun!"

I nodded, my stomach fluttering with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. "Yeah, of course," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant despite the butterflies in my stomach. "I hope you like the place I picked out."

As Rachel pulled away from the mansion, the anticipation in the air was palpable, and I couldn't help but steal glances at Felix, my heart racing with each passing moment.

When we approached Stayz Dining, I found myself fidgeting with the edge of my shirt, my palms growing clammy with nervous anticipation. Rachel parked the car, and we both stepped out onto the sidewalk. The soft glow of the restaurant's lights bathed the street in a warm, inviting ambiance.

"Thank you so much," I said gratefully to Rachel as we stepped out of the car.
"Don't thank me, just go and have some fun," she encouraged me with a warm smile. "Wait, the gift you prepared," she added, handing me the bag I had prepared for Felix.

"Oh, right. Almost forgot about this," I chuckled, feeling a bit embarrassed at my oversight.
"Are you coming?" Felix asked, waiting for me outside the restaurant.
"Take care of him," Rachel said with a smile, and I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude as I followed Felix inside.
