"I love you," Vegas says.
Pete replies in a yelling tone, "LOVE ME? YOU CAN'T EVEN LOOK AT ME, SO HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU LOVE ME?"
"Please, don't yell at me just yet, please, I love you, understand that. I've loved you for a lot more than you may think." Vegas begs not to be yelled at.
Pete then says confused as hell, "A lot more? How long exactly?"
And so, Vegas replies honestly, "Long enough to know when you smile your eyes smile too, but when you're angry, you'd rather storm off than stay around to find out what happens. You're always one step ahead of your peers when you're at work and you're favorite color is blue. I love you long enough to know that when you're upset with yourself you normally take it out on your skin leaving a tiny little mark that is only seen if you stare at it or if you're so close you can touch it, I've known I've loved you for so long now that my entire life is dedicated to loving every single part of you."
Pete went completely quite he didn't know what else to say or how to and Vegas, he didn't know what to do next.
"Please, say something." Vegas pleads.
Pete finally finds his voice and softly says, "I didn't realize you noticed all those things."Vegas takes a deep breath, "I notice everything about you because I love you. And I know I haven't been the best at expressing it, but I'm trying, Pete."
Pete's eyes start to glisten with tears and he pulls Vegas into a tight hug, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled. I love you too, Vegas."
They stand in each other's embrace for what feels like hours, finally letting their guard down and expressing their true feelings. They had been friends for years, but it wasn't until now that they realized their feelings ran deeper than just friendship.
Pete pulls away and looks into Vegas' eyes, "I want to spend the rest of my life loving you, Vegas."
Vegas smiles, "That's all I've ever wanted."
And so, they embark on a new journey together, a journey filled with love and understanding. They learn to communicate and express their feelings openly. They learn to love each other in all their imperfections and embrace each other's differences.
Years go by and they get married in a small ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. As they say their vows, they both say the words, "I love you" to each other. They know that their love has grown stronger each day and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.
And from that day on, whenever Pete is upset with himself, Vegas is there to hold him and remind him that he is loved. And whenever Vegas is feeling down, Pete is there to make him smile and show him that he is loved.
Their love story may have started with a simple "I love you," but it continues to grow and flourish every day, reminding them of the strong bond they share. And as they hold each other close, they know that their love will only continue to grow stronger and deeper with each passing day.
