Vegas lived a life where he had a mission to kill. A mission to take down the name on his list that was given to him because he was now death, the guy who had to kill off the name that appears on his list.

He had no choice but to end the life he fell in love with, and he fell in love with a guy, named Pete.

Vegas paced back and forth in his small, dimly-lit apartment, the weight of his mission heavy on his shoulders. He clenched his fists, trying to push aside the conflicting emotions stirring within him.

"Damn it," he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair. "I can't let myself get distracted. I have a job to do."

But as he thought of Pete, his resolve began to waver. He recalled the way Pete's laughter filled the room, how his smile could light up even the darkest corners of Vegas's heart.

"I can't do this," Vegas muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I can't bring myself to hurt him."

He knew the consequences of abandoning his mission – the repercussions he would face for defying the orders of those he had once served. But as he looked at the name on his list, knowing that Pete's life hung in the balance, Vegas felt something he had long forgotten.

Love.

Taking a deep breath, Vegas made a decision. He picked up the phone, dialing a number he never thought he'd call.

"Listen," he said, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "I can't do this. I won't kill him."

There was a tense pause on the other end of the line before the voice replied, cold and menacing. "You know the consequences of disobeying orders, Vegas. Are you willing to face them?"

Vegas glanced at the picture of Pete on his nightstand, determination shining in his eyes.

"I am," he said, his voice unwavering. "I choose love."

The days that followed were fraught with tension and uncertainty. Vegas knew that he had made a dangerous choice, one that could have dire consequences for not only himself, but for Pete as well. Despite the risks, he refused to back down. He was willing to do whatever it took to protect the man he loved.

As he watched over Pete, ensuring his safety and keeping a lookout for any potential threats, Vegas couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at him. He had turned his back on everything he had once believed in, on the life he had led as a ruthless assassin. But with every smile that lit up Pete's face and every touch that sparked a fire within him, Vegas knew that he had made the right decision.

One evening, as they sat together in silence, Pete turned to Vegas with a look of concern in his eyes. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft and filled with worry.

Vegas took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he had to say. "I need to tell you something," he began, his heart pounding in his chest. "I... I was sent to kill you. But I can't do it. I won't do it."

Pete's eyes widened in shock, but instead of fear or anger, there was understanding and compassion in his gaze. He reached out, taking Vegas's hand in his own. "I trust you," he said, his voice steady. "I believe in you."

Tears pricked at the corners of Vegas's eyes as he realized the depth of Pete's love and acceptance. In that moment, he knew that he had made the right choice, no matter the challenges that lay ahead.

Together, they faced the unknown, hand in hand, ready to fight for their love against all odds. And as they stood side by side, Vegas knew that he had found his true mission – to protect and cherish the man who had stolen his heart, no matter what may come.
