Chapter seven.

Marlena, sweetheart.

John whispered as he softly rubbing marlena's arm to wake her up.

It was 11:50, just ten minutes
to midnight, and they'd both fallen asleep.

By some stroke of luck, john woke up and glanced at the clock, surprised to find out that they'd nearly missed 1988 grand entrance.

Marlena's eyelids opened slowly and she looked up at her husband.

Hmm…what?.

Marlena asked him.

"It's almost midnight.

John told his wife.

Crap, how long were we asleep?.

Marlena asked as she slowly sat up and She pulled the throw blanket over them and rested her head on john's shoulder.

Almost four hours.

John told his wife.

Marlena rolled her eyes and sighed amusedly.

And to think, we were going to have marathon sex tonight.

We've turned into that couple
the ones that can't even stay awake until midnight on New Year's Eve.

Marlena told her husband.

John laughed as he un-muted the TV in preparation for the Times Square coverage.

we'll definitely be asleep next year then.

We'll be even more exhausted with a six month old.

Marlena said as she ran a hand over her blanket covered belly.

Next year, she'll be sleeping in between us.

John said to his wife.

Marlena took John's hand and rested it on top of her belly.

She laying her own hand right next to his.

The muffled cheering coming from the TV escalated as the ball dropped, and they could hear fireworks cracking somewhere off in the distance.

Marlena rested her forehead against john's.

John, We're having a baby this year.

Marlena said to her husband.

The countdown to May 29th was getting closer than ever now.

Yes, we are, happy new year sweetheart and i love you.

John told his wife.

Happy new year and i love you too.

Marlena said to her husband
and she kissed him on the lips.

Only a minute into the New Year, and they already knew, it was going to be a year they would always remember.

Marlena stood in her bra and panties and looked herself over in their bedroom mirror.

Anyone who didn't know she was pregnant a few weeks ago definitely knew now.

Her once tiny bump was ever-evolving into more than
just a bump.

She was twenty-four weeks pregnant today, and as luck would have it, the date was February fourteenth. Valentine's Day.

this Valentine's Day would be their last one with just the two of them.

Marlena took her tub of cocoa butter off her dresser and rubbed some into her palms, smoothing it onto her growing belly.

She to massage the cocoa butter into her skin.
