Marlena laid in the dark of the bedroom as she exhaled slowly, waiting for the pain to pass.

John, honey, wake up.

Marlena whispered.

John opened his eyes and looked at her.

"Yeah?.

John asked her.

"I think, I'm in labor.

Marlena told her husband.

The color from John's face drained.

Are you having contractions?.

John asked her.

"Yeah, I think so.

Marlena replied.

"Are you alright?.

John asked as he reaching for her hand.

Yeah, I'm fine, I just… these aren't Braxton Hicks."

Your water didn't break?.

John asked his wife.

"No, just the contractions and They're not that bad yet,"

Marlena said as she smoothing her hand in circles over her belly.

"Are you having one right now?.

John asked her.

"No, I probably won't have another one for a few minutes.

Marlena told her husband.

"What do they feel like?, sharp or dull?.

John asked his wife.

"I don't know, not excruciating,
but not really pleasant, Like
bad period cramps, but different.

Marlena told her husband.

"Okay, do you want me to call the doctor.

John asked his wife.

Not yet, Let's just wait and
see if I have more

Marlena said to her husband.

Okay.

John said to her.

Marlena took john hand when she felt another contraction happening.

She focused on him as she breathed in and out.

John squeezed marlena's hand
and rubbed his thumb across her knuckles.

Marlena let go of John's hand
and rested her palm on his cheek.

Thank you.

She whispered.

"Team sport, remember?,
anything you need, I'm here.

John said and he kissed marlena's forehead.

"June fifth, belle finally picked
a birthday she liked.

Marlena told her husband.

She wants to come out to meet us today.

John told his wife.

I can't wait to meet her and hold her for the first time.

Marlena said to her husband

Me too.

John said to his wife.

Marlena felt another contraction
hit nine minutes later.

After the conversation ended marlena tells john to call the doctor.
