Chapter Seventeen.

Marlena open her eyes, all of her tiredness wearing off instantly when she saw belle staring back at her with a small, sleepy smile on her face.

What are you... you rolled onto
your belly all by yourself?.

Marlena asked her daughter.

John's eyelids  opened when he heard marlena's voice.

Hmm, what happened?.

John asked his wife.

"She rolled over.

Marlena replied.

"She did?.

John asked.

"Yeah.

Marlena said as she  reached for belle and sat her on her stomach, bending her knees to support belle's back.

"You've never done that before, belle.

Marlena told her daughter.

John sat up and scooted toward them.

No, she hasn't, Belly to back,
but not back to belly, Good job, Princess.

John said as he tickling belle's
belly with his hand.

She's five months old today.

John told his wife.

"I know, and I'd do it all over again, though, all of the pain and the pushing.

I forgot all about it the second we saw her, She was perfect.

Marlena told her husband.

And she gets more perfect every day.

John said as he leaning over to kiss marlena then he  forward to kiss belle.

What should we do today, Princess? This weekend is all about you.

John asked his daughter.

"It's actually nice outside today,
so I was thinking we could go to the park, and we can put belle in the stroller.

How about we go make some breakfast, then we can go to the park.

John said to his wife.

Okay, And maybe after the park, we could try giving belle her first taste of baby food.

The doctor said between five and six months, and when belle can hold her head up to swallow.

She's been doing that for two months now, I think she's ready.

Marlena told her husband.

"Yeah, we can do that, There's
a farmers' market near the park,
so we can buy fruits and vegetables. We got that purée thing when we got married, May as well try it out.

John told his wife.

She's only ever had breast milk,
so I read that it's best to start her off with sweeter flavors until she gets the hang of it.

We can pick up some baby cereal this week, too.

Marlena told her husband.

John put his hand on the small of marlena back, and they walked out of their bedroom.

They want down stairs to make breakfast together.

Later that morning.

Belle looked up at the world around her with interest.

She snuggled under the blanket
in the stroller to keep her warm.

It was one of the last few breezy weekends in salem, before the rain and chill of pending winter hit the air.
