Chapter twenty-four.

Nine days had passed since their anniversary, and finding out marlena was pregnant with their surprise warrior baby.

And today, marlena was having the repeat ultrasound to make sure he or she was still safe and sound since having her IUD removed.

Marlena woke up before the alarm this morning, excited to both see their baby again, and get her self-inflicted work limit lifted.

John had practically begged her to work shortened hours over the last nine days.

Marlena and belle are both dressed and eating breakfast.

when john entered the kitchen, and he had to laugh at marlena eagerness to get out the door.

Wow, Someone's ready to race out of here, huh?.

John asked.

He kissing the tops of both of their heads on his way over to the coffee pot.

Jellybean isn't even the size of a jellybean yet, and I've already had to mommy track myself this past week.

When belle was napping yesterday, I got sucked into the golden girls marathon, john.

Marlena said in a serious voice to emphasize the gravity of her situation.

Sounds like fun.

John replied.

Marlena laughed as she tossing one of belle's Cheerios at him and then she feeding belle a spoonful of her applesauce.

Belle was munched on her breakfast.

Who was you talking to on the phone earlier,?.

Marlena asked her husband.

I was talking to Bo he told me that Hope is in labor and they're at the hospital.

John told his wife.

Marlena nearly choked on her bagel at the news, and reached for her orange juice.

What?, No way, are you kidding me?.

Marlena asked her husband.

Nope.

John replied.

I can't wait to finally meet our Godson.

Marlena told her husband.

Me too.

John replied.

The happiness at breakfast morphed into nervous energy once they got
to the hospital.

marlena found herself in another hospital gown, waiting for her ultrasound checkup.

Since getting her IUD removed, she'd had no pain, cramping, bleeding, or any of the other warning signs of potential miscarriage.

But even though the logical part
of  her brain knew everything was fine, the irrational mommy fears trumped whatever logic said.

"You look really cute in paper gowns.

John said in an attempt to brighten her apprehensive mood.

Marlena laughed as she shaking her head in amusement. "

Very funny.

she said sarcastically.

"What?, You do, Right, belle?,
Tell Mommy she looks pretty.

John said to his daughter.

"Ma pitty.

Belle said as she sit on marlena's lap while they waited for the doctor.
