You Deserve Better

I dip my foot into the foot spa and feel a tingle all around my body from the vibration of it, It's been two days since church and i haven't seen ace since. He's been so busy with work that we haven't spent so much time together and a part of me is thankfully.

It's given me the chance to think and to look back on everything with my life especially with everything that Pastor Davis mentioned. I have been working on getting close to God every single day and have been feeling myself be filled with almost a fire.

I look around the spa area seeing the dim yellow lighting surround the room, there's a blue light that shines from the pool that i can see through the wide glass window. Another side holds a mini gym that has different people doing yoga and workouts under it's low lighting.

There are a few mini santa hats planted around the building that reminds me that it's christmas weekend! My very first one with ace... we have planned to meet up a while ago but not much else has been talked about asides from that,

I look down to my phone waiting to see if Serenity is anywhere near. We agreed to meet up and have a spa day today. No men, just us. I wait for her to respond to my text by lying my head back on the comfortable spa chair neck rest. There's a woman that rubs my feet with salt scrub and for the first time in a long time i feel relaxed.

There's a whisper of soft instrumental music that plays in the background as tension get's released from my body.

"Hey!" I'm dragged out of my comfort by serenity's whisper, my eyes rip open and find her wearing her white cotton robe and slippers. Her newly done red cornrows are tied in a bun behind her head and a huge smile occupies her face.

"Serenity!" I yelp trying to sit up a bit to give her a hug. She plants herself in the seat next to mine and scoots her but to make herself more comfortable.

"You look comfortable..." She says bouncing her brows at me twice before another woman finds herself helping serenity with her feet.

"Comfortable is an understatement. I needed this so bad." I sigh leaning my head back,

"Well i'm glad that this is actually happening because we have a lot to catch up on." She reaches her hand out to grab mine. I can't wait to hear everything that she has been going through, by the look of it it's been a lot. I try not to notice the bags under her eyes but i can't ignore them.

"So who's going first?" I ask with a smile, there's a silence that lingers around and i'm confused as to why for a moment. but then i see her eyes drift to a corner behind me, I slowly turn my head towards it-

"Ugh..." Her groan of frustration changes the whole atmosphere as Zephaniah walks up from behind, he takes a minute to greet me,

"Hello Eden, it's great to see you." I look to serenity to see if i would get killed by her if i responded, one minute she swooned over him the next she looks disturbed by him.

"Hey Zeph, It's good to see you too. How have you been keeping?" I ask as nonchalantly as possible, his hands are in his pockets and with each word he says he nears serenity who looks down to her toenails to avoid looking at him.

"I can't complain..." He is zoned out of any conversation with me when his eyes are laid on serenity, this is painfully awkward, i bite my lip as no conversation is had. I know i'm going to find out why all of this is happening soon so i don't press too hard about it.
