I can't believe that i have been brought to the place where i am standing in front of the temple of grace church looking up at the same poster that eden showed me at the cafe. It's getting darker outside since the evening has dawned and the sky easily matches how im feeling inside.

The cloud of gloom follows.

A few people pass by me not saying anything in the process as they open the doors to the building and walk in.

Well, it's either now or never.

I take some calculated steps into the church before pocketing my hands, i know my way around the place but if i didn't, the signs on the floor pointing towards the room give me enough of an idea where i am to go.

The event has been opened for anybody to come into and they clearly took advantage of it since the room is filling up by the second with a number of people, some i have never seen before and some from the church that i see only too often.

I scan the room, the light whisper of some maverick city in the background, a few candles lit around the place with some snacks and hot drinks scattered all around for anyone to take.

When i walk in my eyes immediately look to find one person, Eden. But she is nowhere around so i find a seat in the circle of chairs that hasn't been filled and choose my seat.

"Are you sure you're in the right place?" I turn to see Joel beside me, he is always at these events. I have no idea why but Joel may as well own this church with how much he makes it his job to be involved in as much as possible.

You can tell the guy really has a genuine heart for people, which would explain why people always go to him for advice and counselling.

"Im starting to ask myself that same thing." I utter as i sit down and lean back in the chair, his legs are crossed with a cup of what i can only assume is one of the hot chocolates catered to by the cafe in his hand,

"Im glad you could be here kid. What changed your mind?" He made his brows jump teasing me before he hides his face behind the sip of his drink.

"Or should i say who..." He nudges me with his arm but i only roll my eyes in response. Hiding a secret from Joel is close to impossible so much so that i don't even try anymore.

"I will give it 5 minutes, if she's not here i will get back to work." I say checking my clock and ignoring his snicker from beside me.

"Do you ever allow yourself to just... relax? Work can wait, just be here ace. You may just learn something." He offers,

"Im not here to learn anything alright? im here for eden. She said she wants a christian guy and im trying to be that-"

"No you're trying to fake it well enough that maybe she won't notice. Your plan is foolish ace. If you want God fine, but you have to want him for yourself or he won't come." He plants a hand on my shoulder before pulling out his phone when he gets a text that distracts him from our conversation.
