MIGUEL POV

I couldn't get that beautiful mom out of my head,she looks young to be a mom but I'm not judging.When she told me that the father isn't in the picture I felt some sort of excitement but also sympathy

That boy won't know how it feels to grow up with a dad,not even to teach him how to be a man but to have a father and son bond

But she was absolutely beautiful,she seems to closed up though.I really hope I get to see her more,my dumbass didn't even ask for her number

What if I never see her again? That's crazy I mean the town is small,I predict that we live even in the same neighborhood

The neighborhood is nice,most of the houses are together but some aren't

"Yo we gonna order food!" I heard my roommate shout from downstairs

"I'm coming!" I responded as I shot up from my bed,I made my way downstairs seeing my roommate Mason along with our other friends

"What was you doing? You was by yourself up there" my friend Tristan asked

"Definitely jerking off" Brady spoke,our other friend Maddy scrunched her face

"Ew why would you put that in my head you shithead" she groaned,the guys laughed while I rolled my eyes as I sat beside Mason

"I had this customer come in,she was a single mom" I spoke,brady wiggled his eyebrows

"Sexy" he commented making Tristan side eyed him,I squint my eyes at him for sounding desperate

"Anyways she looks young and the kid was cute but I can't stop thinking about her"

"Aw so sweet" maddy sarcastically spoke

"Hop off of me would ya?" I told her while giving the finger,she returned the same

"Did you get her number or some shit" Mason asked,I shook my head causing him to smack the back of it "nice one dipshit"

"Alright don't get fucked up" I say with a fake smile,brady and Tris laughed

"You could've made your move right there,does she co-parent with the dad?"

"No,she said he's out the picture" I told them,Maddy's jaw drops

"Poor girl,you know how shitty it must be to play the mom and the dad?" She stated,I scoffed

"I know,I can't even imagine the shit she has to deal with for that kid" I said,the guys had sympathy expressions

"Can we watch a movie now? My girl will get pissed if I'm not home before dinner" Tristan spoke

"Oh shut the fuck up" Brady scolded

Y/N POV

"Okay but how cute was he?" Lexi asked,I rolled my eyes while placing Daniel on my lap.

"Really cute Lexi,that's all I can say"

"Okay but like 'jump on his bones' type of cute or 'kiss slowly outside my dad's porch' type of cute" she exclaimed

My eyebrows furrowed "Lexi"

"What? I'm just asking,how long has it been since you found a guy attractive?"

"Hey I found guys attractive before" I say defensively,her face turned straight

"The ones that don't know your existence doesn't count" I shrugged "well if you want to see him again you're gonna have to go back"

"Oh you know I'm not looking for anything right now,I have Daniel and the bills-

"Didn't Carlos give you the money?" She says referring to the envelope,I sighed

"Yeah but still"

My brothers always hand me money for bills or for Daniel's things that I need,they sometimes even pay my car payments

I don't want to cause I hate asking for people's help and I feel bad when people buy stuff for me but unfortunately I'm not left with any other choice

I tend to have trouble with money so my brothers offer to help,I tell them that I'll pay them back but they know I'm not able to and they don't care

I'm honestly blessed to have the best brothers

Lexi placed her hand on mine "you're stressing yourself out y/n,I hate seeing you like this.you deserve all the happiness in the world"

I slightly smiled "thank you lexi,I love you" she grinned before placing her arms around me

"I love you more" she says "okay I gotta go home but I'll take you out this weekend for us to get our nails done"

"Oh Lexi please-

"Don't even say it,you know i got it okay?" She says

Lexi is the reason why I have my nails and toes done,she loves taking me out to get them looking nice she obviously pays for it.

I'm not broke because I do have money but not much since I got fired from my last job,it was a stupid situation which looks bad on their part so I don't care

Lexi pecked my cheek before grabbing her purse "bye baby boy" she says in her baby voice to Daniel,he turned and giggled as she gave him multiple kisses on the cheeks

"Bye honey" she says while waving before leaving,I chuckled as I continued to scroll through my laptop while Daniel ate his snacks

I caressed his head until I gotten an email,my heart skipped a beat hoping it's from the job I applied.my chest tighten

"Damn it" I said to myself

I didn't get it..why? Why didn't I get it? I'm perfect for the job

I get to work on time,I do operations,I can make sales I can do it all so why didn't I get it? Now I have to look around for a new job

I closed my laptop before I pulled Daniel closer to my chest as I got up "okay niño,it's time for bed" he nodded not even trying to whine about it

He's like his mama that loves sleep,I threw out the bag of snacks he was eating.I took us both upstairs into our bedroom

"Mama" he called,I looked at him as I hummed.he pointed at the bed "sleep"

"You wanna sleep with mama?" He nodded repeatedly making me laugh "okay we're gonna sleep with mama" I placed him on the bed;under the covers

I closed our bedroom door before walking back to the bed,I laid beside him as he turned onto his stomach we looked at each other until he began smiling along with his eyes

His cute smile was contagious,I couldn't help and do the same "okay time for night night baby" I said

He closed his trying to fall asleep while I caressed him so he knows I'm here,I always did this because it helped him sleep better and faster

I notice his tiny chubby body fully relaxed,I kept overthinking about me not getting the job.why does this always happens to me

"I'm sorry honey" I whispered to myself before gently placing a kiss on his head

I feel like I failed him,he's my motivation to keep going,to go bigger and better but how can I do that when I keep failing him?

I gotta find somewhere else
