Y/N POV

I smiled watching Daniel play with his blocks as I sat was on the couch on my laptop,I try to smile and be happy for him but I just want to break down

The front door opened showing Lexi,I half closed my laptop before placing it next to me then standing up "I'm sorry Lexi I just needed-

"Oh don't worry about it,I don't have work today anyways" she says as she bend down to Daniel,she caresses his hair before giving his forehead a kiss

"I just need to look around for a job" I said,she stood up walking over to me.

"I'm sorry you didn't get the job but maybe it was for a reason,you can have a better job coming your way" she spoke

I gave her a weak smile "everything is gonna be okay y/n,just relax" she wrapped her arms around me,I inhaled sharply so I didn't sob on her shoulder

I pulled away to quickly grab my purse "okay well if anything call me please" I told her,she nodded

"Of course"

TIME SKIP

I searched around jobs but I couldn't find anything I'll enjoy doing,I cared for the money but I also didn't want to be miserable everytime I had to wake up to do something I didn't

That's how I was for twelve years of school,shit was torture now I have to make the best for it.The last option I have is the mall for the retails

I sighed while walking through the mall,I definitely didn't want to work at Starbucks or anything boring.I looked seeing footlocker

Shoot,it's not bad cause I really like shoes but miguel works there which isn't terrible because I know somebody there but what if he wants more?

I can't go through that again,I've been through enough stress with Daniel's dad.I don't even like saying his name

I walked towards footlocker,I made my way in seeing customers talking to employees or looking around.I just need to find the boss

"Hey you" I heard,I turn seeing miguel walk up to me with a smirk

"Hey Miguel" I said with a soft smile

"You can call me mikey if you'd like" he says,I slowly nod while looking at his hair that he decided to let down

It wasn't long nor short,it was perfect and boy that cologne was killing me.He smelled clean but yummy I gotta relax

"Okay mikey,do you know where your boss is?" I asked he nodded before pointing towards the back

"He should be there going through some papers,what you need? Are you looking for work?" He asked as his eyes lit up,my eyebrows knitted

"Unfortunately yes,is the pay any good?" I asked,he scoffed

"Pay is perfect,we get paid once a week so it's not a long wait" he said crossing his arms against his chest

"Oh you think your boss will hire me?" I say now getting nervous

"If you have the qualifications,most likely yeah" I exhaled deeply as I nodded "but don't stress yourself out"

"Thanks mikey" he chuckled

"Want me to take you to him?" He asked,I nodded.he motioned his head to follow him

I followed him to the back where I saw a guy sitting at the desk they had looking through some papers

"Hey man,I got someone wanting to work" miguel spoke,the guy turned around and he wasn't young nor old

"Alright let her in,you can kick rocks" he joked.miguel laughed before he placed his hand on my lower back to move me forward causing my chest to tighten

"Good luck" he whispered before he left

"I'm Martin but you can call me Mart,you can sit" he says pointing to the chair near him,I nodded before walking over to sit

"It's just gonna be a short interview,no pressure and I'll let you know in the end if I like you or not,we don't do those calls or emails" he said

I already felt better with him saying they tell you right away but it's also scary,I nodded

He began asking me questions,they weren't bad or making me feel overwhelmed.He just wanted to know the basics and any specialties I have

I thought it was going well since he had a positive expression while nodding,he glanced at his Apple Watch

"Okay well that's all I needed to know and I gotta get back to this other stuff but when are you able to start?" He asked,I almost choked on my spit

"I got it?" I asked

"Oh right sorry,I like to just rush into things.I like you and you seem you really want to work which is what I like so yeah you got the job,glad to have you apart of the team" he says

I grinned ear to ear "oh thank you so much,I can start whenever" I say

He chuckled "how about tomorrow so we can give you some training early and you'll be ready for the busy days which is the weekends"

I nodded "of course" I stood up as he did as well,we shook hands "thank you again"

"No problem,I'll give you your uniform tomorrow when you come in" he stated

I walked out the back seeing miguel by the register with another employee since there's two,his head turned to me seeing me leaving

He told the customer to hold for a moment before rushing over to me "how did it go" he asks with a smile

"I got it" I squealed,his eyebrows raised along his eyes widening

"That's great!,holy shit well welcome to the team.I guess we're gonna be seeing each other more" he says

"Yeah I guess so but don't get your hopes up" I say,he tilted his head

"Can't help it" he says lowly,I rolled my eyes as I walked past him "wait! When are you coming in?"

"Don't worry about it" I told him without turning,I waved before leaving the store
