chapter 16

The next day

I woke up in my bed. I got up and went out into the daycare. Sun and Moon were getting ready for the kids. (Who were somehow still coming....) It was one of the first times I saw them next to each other, and it was a little startling since I'm still getting used to it.
"Hi Sunshine!" Sun said running over to me.
"Hi." I said.
He pulled me into a hug, and I saw Moon slowly walk over.
Sun let go of the hug, and I walked over to Moon, and pulled him into a hug.
He hugged back. He was still a little nervous around me.
"What are you guys up to?" I asked with a smile.
"We're cleaning the daycare up." Sun said.
Moon walked back over to where they had been.
"Sun are you ok? Like.. after yesterday?" I asked.
"O-oh... I don't know.... I think so though.."He sounded like he could cry, so I quickly got off that topic.

We finished cleaning the daycare just in time for the kids to start arriving.
Me and Moon went up to the balcony.
He was being very silent.
"What's up Moon?" I asked.
He shrugged.
"You know you can still talk to me right?" I asked, putting a hand on his back.
"I know.... But.." He trailed off.
"But you're shy?" I asked.
He looked away.
"Sorry."
"No you're fine."
"Come on, I miss the sasy Moon." I said playfully.
He looked at me "with a soft smile".
"You're so annoying." He said.
"There we go!" I said with a bright smile.
We were talking more when Sun screamed.
We looked down to see that one of the kids had turned the lights out. Sun had expected to turn into Moon like usual, but of course he didn't. He looked around shocked. He was experiencing the dark for the first time.
Me and Moon came down to help him.
Moon turned the lights back on, and now that I think of it, Moon has been experiencing the light for the first time.
We went back up to the balcony.
"What's it like seeing the light for the first time?" I asked.
"Bright." He responded.
I laughed.
He laughed too, and I realized it was the first time I ever heard him laugh.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked, confused.
"I just realized I never heard you laugh before." I said.
"Is it bad?" He asked, immediately getting insecure.
"No! I actually love it..."
He stared at me, then "smiled".
After a while it was nap time, and Moon and Sun switched places.
"The dark is so weird!" Sun said flabbergasted.
"I bet." I said. "You know Moon is really shy and insecure around me..." I said.
"Really?! Actually that does make sense. You should just show him there's no reason to be." He said.
"You're right. I'll talk to him about it after nap time. Thanks Sun." I said with a smile.
"Of course Sunshine!" Sun said.
Suddenly Moon appeared in front of us.
"Would you guys shut the hell up?! You're gonna wake them up." He growled.
"Sorry Moon." I whispered.
"U-uh.. it's fine...." He said shyly, then disappeared.
"See??" I asked Sun.
He nodded.
"I think it's just because he loves you, and he's never felt this way before, so he doesn't know how to act." Sun said.
"Oh I know that, and I find it cute, but he had a crush on me for a little while before, and he didn't have a problem then." I said.
"Well like you said ask him about it." Sun said.
"Yeah I know..."
Suddenly the lights turned back on, and then Sun and Moon switched places.
"Hey Moon? I need to ask you something." I said.
"Oh yeah? What?" He asked.
"You never used to be nervous around me, and you had a crush on me then, but ever since we told each other, you have been shy and insecure. I know this is new for you, but I'm just wondering why. Or if you don't feel like you can trust me...." I said.
"No! It's not that at all! I just.... Get worried I will do something that's not good enough for you, or.. you won't like me if I do or say something you don't like.... I also don't know how to process my emotions sometimes.... And... I never know what to say anymore... Even though it's the same......" He looked away again.
"Oh Moon... You don't need to worry about that. I just want you to be yourself. And I get it's hard for you to process your emotions, and express them sometimes. I just really appreciate you being honest and opening up. I do think it's cute sometimes, but you don't have to be shy, and you especially don't have to be insecure."
"Thanks.." He said. "I appreciate it."
"I love you Moon-" I said without thinking. Then I was the one who was nervous. Actually no. I was freaking shitting myself. Did I move too fast??
He stared at me in shock, and silence.
"I'm sor-"
I was cut off by him hugging me tightly. Now I was even more shocked and caught off guard.
"Don't be. And... I love you too...." He said. I blushed and smiled.
Time seemed to fly by, because Sun just magically appeared.
"The daycare is closed now!" Sun said startling us.
We were still hugging, but we emideitly jumped away from each other once Sun said that.
"Aww you guys were soo cuuteee!!" Sun cooned.
Me and Moon looked at each other, and then he looked away, while I blushed.
"Well I'm gonna clean more. You guys can hang out more." Sun said "winking" before he left.
I shyly looked at Moon who was still looking away.
"Well that was embarrassing." He said.
"Ha, only a little." I said.
"Now what?"
"Well umm." I put my head on his shoulder thinking.
He froze, and then gingerly put his arm around me.

Time Skip

We were all sitting together in the middle of the daycare.
"We should play truth or dare!" Sun said.
"No way." Moon said.
"Oh come on!"
"What would we even dare each other?" I asked.
"I dunno." Sun said.
"How about we don't." I said, not wanting things to get weird.
"Ok fineeee." Sun said. "Then what should we do?"
Suddenly I yaned.
"Go to bed." Moon said.
"Aww but that's no fun!" Sun said.
"Yeah! And I'm not tired." I said.
"Don't lie." Moon said.
"I'm not!"
"Ok. Then I know a game. Try not to fall asleep."
Moon said putting his arm around me and pulling me close.
"What are yo- fine. I won't."
"Ok good luck."
"Oooo ok I'll watch! I root for Y/N!" Sun said excitedly.
I stared to laugh at his enthusiasm.
"SSSSHHHH!" Moon hist. "No one resists sleep when I'm around. So Sun be quiet!" Moon snaped.
"Ok, ok sorry." Sun said whispering.
Despite trying my appsalut hardest, I couldn't help my eyelids from getting heavy, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep in Moon's arms.
"Awww!" Sun whispered.
"You put her to bed." Moon said handing me off to Sun. "You deserve some time with her." He said.
"Thanks Moon." Sun said.
They went up to their rooms in the balcony.
Sun put me in his bed, and then cuddled up next to me while Moon went to his room in the other room.

Nighty night... See ya later guys!
