Energy poured from my shaking hands

Energy poured from my shaking hands. I could feel it surge through my body in one satisfying swipe. It tickled down my spine as my hands went pale.

Shades of blue and purple electricity lined my fingertips as I turned and gazed at the one person who I once trusted in their greedy eyes. It's devastating to think that the people you love the most can be the ones holding a dagger to your back.

Carven held a pointed dagger, his taller figure looming down on me. His once sincere eyes that were so beautiful once upon a time. I remember the feeling in my stomach when we first made eye contact.

"Carven," I spoke softly.

"I'm sorry that it's come down to this, Emilia. I need you. They need you."

"So you want to use me as a weapon. You want to take away my freedom."

Carven's eyes flickered. His body was tense. His hand was shaky. He had so much to say, but no nerve to say it. He held a dagger in his hand, but he couldn't use it.

I sighed. "You see my hands. Your dagger won't do anything, but we don't have to fight."

"We do have to, Emilia! What do you not understand? Is your mind so warped that you can't understand what is going on in front of you?"

That stung. My powers and the recent tragedies I've had to deal with have been driving me mad. I'm not insane, but I'm definitely not normal. Nothing about my life or what is in my fingertips is normal.

My lips curved into a straight line. "I understand perfectly fine."

Carven moved the dagger close to my face. My chin was lifted up with the blade. I winced, but kept my strong persona. "I don't want to draw blood," he whispered.

His dark hair fell slightly over his face. "Come with me. I won't have to hurt you."

His voice was tempting. The voice I used to love hear saying my name. He knew it too.

"Emilia," he whispered again.

"I won't go willingly."

Before Carven could touch me, I sent a wave of electric shock towards him. He fell backwards in a stumble, his dagger clashing against the ground in result.

Carven was quick, but I was quicker. My brunette locks fell over my face as I swiftly bent over and grabbed the dagger. I got to my feet, breathing heavily.

"I'm giving you another chance, Carven," I offered. I stood my ground with the dagger pointed towards him.

Carven just shook his head in a no.

He came rushing towards me, and I felt his body collide with mine. I was on the ground, and Carven was pinning me down. He was trying to grab the dagger from my hand. My grip was loosening but I didn't let go.
