It's almost six, and I've decided just to listen to Warner for now

It's almost six, and I've decided just to listen to Warner for now. It's not worth it to infuriate him over a dinner. I remember when he shot his gun at our first dinner together.

This time I'm wearing a light purple dress, and I have to admit that Warner's choice of wardrobe is immaculate. That is if he picked them out.

At first, I wanted to annoy him by not wearing the outfits. But then I realized it's better to wear nice clothing than prisoner-like garments.

I expect Kenji to bring me to dinner like usual. I like our walks together, because he's the only one here who brings a genuine smile of joy into my face.

Instead, I see Adam when the door opens. His eyes scan my body and then my face in one swift motion.

"You always look so beautiful," Adam says as he invites himself in.

I'm caught off guard when his hand is moving to my waist. "Thanks. Did Warner ask you to take me to dinner?"

"No, but who cares about him anyways?"

I pause. "Adam, I have to go."

His hand is on my cheek now as he observes my every feature. "Emilia, come on. You don't have to go to dinner just because he orders you to."

"Yes I do. I'm not risking other's punishment, or my own." I look at him hopefully. "Maybe if I gain his trust, we can escape."

"There's also no cameras in here now," I note.

Adam looks around, seeming to not know that there were cameras in the first place. I can see the gears in his mind spinning.

"I'm glad."

His eyes are looking at my lips, and I'm standing there frozen. Adam's hand is still on my face, and he's starting to lean in and I feel the adrenaline rush through me.

The door opens in a swift motion, and Adam and I break apart. Kenji is standing there, his face contorted into disgust.

"Adam? Bro, what are you doing?!"

My face must be the deepest shade of scarlet there is. I never knew Adam felt this way...

I don't know if I feel the same way or not.

"Kenji," Adam grumbles.

"I didn't mean to interrupt anything. Please don't tell me you two are a thing. God, my day is ruined!"

Kenji's crossing his arms and leaning against the wall.

"We're not a thing," I say confidently as Adam's face drops. "Has Warner noticed that I'm not there?"

Kenji's laughing with a lethal expression. "Oh, Warner noticed alright. He's throwing a little tantrum. If you don't come soon, he might kill everyone here."
