Aaron and I are entering a battlefield. Nearly an hour into our journey, we see other tanks and soldiers lined with guns. Omega Point is going to war, and this entire time I had no idea.

My friends never told me that they were going to fight today. Were they just planning on leaving me at the base?

I wonder what they'll think when they realize I left and find Carven dead or knocked out on my bedroom floor.

I wonder if Kenji will grow to hate me or if Adam will just hate me more.

"I shouldn't have left them like this. Not now. We need to go back."

Warner leans back so I can look into his emerald eyes. "Love, I can't let you go back. Do you see what is happening? It's a war zone out there."

"I can fight. I can help them."

"As much as I believe you, I can't let you get yourself killed."

"Aaron, let me out."

He's not stopping the tank. I can't just use my powers, or else I'll kill both of us. I need to go back and help Omega Point fight, or they don't stand a chance.

"Aaron!"

Aaron is only moving faster away from where I want to be. "Hang on, Lia."

The tank comes to a rough stop. Aaron throws his arm over my lap so I don't go flying. Once I get out, I look up and see the tall buildings with smoke looming overhead.

I know where we are. We're back at the Sector 45 base. "I-I can't be back here. Aaron, please drive me back or else I'm going to have to drive myself.

He chuckles. "You don't know how to drive a tank, dear."

I hate when he's right. Somehow Aaron Warner is always right and it's infuriating. He values my safety, but he won't let me risk it just once.

I cross my arms. "Is this what we're going to now? You're going to kidnap me again?"

"I'm not kidnapping you, I'm protecting you. You said you wanted to come with me, the only reason you want to leave is to put yourself in danger."

Aaron begins to walk towards me. He puts his larger hand on top of mine, and our fingers interlock. "How are we going to do this? Are going to going to come with me, or am I going to make you come with me?"

"Aaron, you know I can't come now."

I start running as fast as my feet can take me. I don't even think Aaron realized what I was doing at first, but now I hear him chasing after me.

I can't let him stop me. "Lia, please stop running!" I hear his voice call.

I stumble to the ground, and when I look up I see only Aaron. He chuckles lightheartedly. "You're not very fast, you know that right?"

"Not funny. Let me get up."

He looms over me, teasing me with just his close presence. I can't resist Aaron, and he knows it. I take his face in my hands, observing every freckle and every piece of art that is on his face. Moments like this give me time to appreciate him even if they're in unfortunate circumstances.

Aaron's blushing. I never see him blush, especially with his tough act. I smirk and press my lips against his.

While I do enjoy kissing Aaron, this is also a perfect moment to escape him and head back towards the tank that I'm going to have to learn how to drive.

I push back his hair and turn so that we're beside each other, instead of him trapping me underneath him.

My eyes flicker to behind him, and he turns to look. I jump up and start running towards the tank.

Somehow he reacts almost immediately and grabs me from behind. My heart beats fast as he pulls me against his chest.

"I'm always one step ahead, love. Smart thinking to distract me with a kiss."

"I didn't just kiss you to distract you, Aaron." I look down and then up at his lips. "I can't resist you."

"You're lovely, my Lia."

He throws me over his shoulders and I gasp. "What are you doing?"

"Keeping you safe."

I feel embarrassed. Solders are going to see Aaron carrying me over his shoulder as I put up a weak attempt to get down against his strength.

I recognize the hallways. We're heading to his massive quarters with the extremely comfy bed. That's the only thing I can confidently say I miss from here.

The door shuts and he throws me down on the bed.

I try to get up. "Nope."

He pushes me back down, and I still feel so strongly attracted to him. Aaron rips his coat and then his shirt off in one swift motion.

I feel him against my skin. "They could be getting hurt out there."

Aaron chuckles. "Who cares about them when I have you? They're more than capable of defending themselves, and I wouldn't exactly care if Kent got hurt."

"I would," I protest.

"You shouldn't. He treats you horridly when you should be treated like a queen."

Aaron kisses me and I fall back against the bed frame. "My queen," he whispers.

My hand brushes against his face. "Can I tell you something?"

"Anything, Lia."

"I love you, Aaron."

He seems so shocked. So horrified, yet pleased. Aaron wants my love and I know it, but he seems so surprised by the idea that I love him back. He has no idea how to love, and I can help him learn.

When he first told me he loved me, I was surprised too. It was before Omega Point. I didn't know if I felt the same, because it seemed so awful to love him.

I only knew him as the ruthless leader of Sector 45, and as my kidnapper. As I got to know him, I discovered that he wasn't exactly heartless.

I didn't want to love him. I fought it. I told myself that it is wrong to love a monster and that I need to stop thinking good of him.

Now I know that I cannot fight against Aaron Warner's love. He's done horrible things, but we all have. If anything, maybe I'm helping to change him for the better.

His eyes widen. "Please, you don't have to lie to me, love. Please don't lie."

"I'm not lying. It's the truth."

"You really... you really love me?"

"I do. I love you, Aaron Warner."

He pulls me against him, kissing my cheek. "I love you, Lia." Aaron then kisses my hand and then my lips. "I love every last inch of you."
