Kim Dokja buried his face in Yoo Joonghyuk's shoulder, he felt Yoo Joonghyuk's arm tighten around him offering silent support.

Kim Dokja shuddered, he didn't want to tell Yoo Joonghyuk. He didn't want to.

He looked up at Yoo Joonghyuk's face, their noses almost touching.

"I'm sick, Yoo Joonghyuk," his voice wavered dangerously "It's serious."

He shut his eyes dreading Yoo Joonghyuk's reaction. Yoo Joonghyuk pulled back slightly his face full of confusion

"What do you mean you sick?" Kim Dokja's words felt heavy on his tongue. "I have a condition.. hemopytitis." Yoo Joonghyuk looked at him confused. "What is that?" he asked his voice a mix of emotions.

"I can't explain it that well," he murmured

"Then we should go to the doctor, right now" he grabbed Kim Dokja's wrist but Kim Dokja refused to move.

"I already went to the doctor." he shook his head his eyes stuck to the ground.

"You can be cured though, you can get better," he said firmly.

Kim Dokja took a shaky breath, his legs felt weak, and he wanted to lie down and forget this ever happened. He wished he never went to the doctor. "I won't be getting better," he said quietly

Yoo Joonghyuk's face shifted to confusion to the realization his grip around Kim Dokja's arm went limp.

"The doctor said I had a month." he managed to say, his voice choked with emotion.

"What is he thinking right now?" Kim Dokja thought as he gazed at Yoo Joonghyuk, his expression was unreadable.

Then it turned to defiance. "No, we will get you treated, you will get better." his voice was hard.

"Yoo Joonghyuk..." Kim Dokjas's voice was barely audible.

"We'll find the best doctors, and find treatments." Yoo Joonghyuk's words were stifling. "We should go now an-"

Kim Dokja cut him off, his tears now falling freely.

"I'm not getting better!" he yelled.

Yoo Joonghyuk fell silent his eyes going dark, "We are going to the hospital." he looked up his voice was cold but there was a ting of helplessness buried inside of it. Kim Dokja bit his tongue. "I can't convince him."

 Kim Dokja nodded, feeling powerless

"You will be ok." Yoo Joonghyuk said. Kim Dokja stayed silent wanting to cling to far-away hope.

Even so, his words of comfort didn't reach him.

"Get ready to leave." Yoo Joonghyuk walked inside and Kim Dokja followed closely behind him. In the kitchen, Han Sooyoung sat there, and she locked eyes with Kim Dokja. Her mouth opened to say something but she quickly shut it.

"I'll make sure the kids get to school," she said to Yoo Joonghyuk.

Yoo Joonghyuk just looked at her, his jaw clenched tightly.

"Do you.." Yoo Joonghyuk's voice trailed off.

"I know." Han Sooyoung replied her eyes avoiding Yoo Joonghyuks. Yoo Joonghyuk walked away

"I'll be waiting in the car." he grabbed the keys and walked outside.

"How did it go?" Han Sooyoung asked after the door shut behind Yoo Joonghyuk. Kim Dokja felt a lump form in his throat

"He won't believe me." his voice broke.

Han Sooyoung shuffled out of her seat and held Kim Dokja in a limp hug before backing away.

"Everything will be ok," she said airly, but they both knew she was lying. Kim Dokja nodded at her and left the house wordlessly. He already began to hear the kids wake up.

Yoo Joonghyuk owned a car but Kim Dokja rarely used it. They could walk everywhere or use the bus, they only bought the car so Yoo Joonghyuk could go to work. His heart started to beat faster as he looked inside the car where Yoo Joonghyuk sat in the driver's seat. Kim Dokja pushed down the feeling and sat in the passenger seat next to him silently. Yoo Joonghyuk started the car, his hands were clenched tight on the steering wheel as he looked in front of him. After a while of silence,

Yoo Joonghyuk's voice broke the tense air, "What are the symptoms?" Yoo Joonghyuk asked his voice was coarse.

"I didn't stay at the hospital long, but I know that it makes me cough up blood." Kim Dokja answered.

Another wave of silence washed over the car. They had already been driving for about 20 minutes now and Yoo Joonghyuk hadn't spared a glance at him.

"Yoo Joonghyuk however much we don't want this to be true we can't ignore reality." Kim Dokja tried to reason.

For the first time, Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes were now on him "I can't let you just die." he said. "Kim Dokja you.." He turned back to the road the words couldn't come out.

Kim Dokja wanted to cry again but he felt raw. As if someone dragged him across burning coals. He turned his head to the window the scenery of the small town slowly shifted into the city. The car stopped at a large hospital, definitely larger than the one that Kim Dokja had gone to before. They parked at a spot close to the hospital and got out. Kim Dokja was still wearing the same clothes from the night before and felt out of place compared to everyone else. Yoo Joonghyuk stood by him, Kim Dokja looked up at his face to try and tell what he was thinking but it got him nowhere.

"Let's go." Yoo Joonghyuk started walking, yet he was always one step behind Kim Dokja.

The closer they got to the hospital the more Kim Dokjas's heart sank. He never liked the hospital, he didn't have good memories with them. Especially this one.

They walked in, and Yoo Joonghyuk started talking to a woman at the counter. "I called earlier..." Kim Dokja walked away and sat in a rigid chair.

After a couple minutes of waiting Yoo Joonghyuk approached him.

"Let's go." his voice was softer than before.

Kim Dokja looked up "Mhm." he mumbled and stood up.

They followed a nurse into a large room. It was bigger than the room that Kim Dokja went to before. The windows were covered by cream-colored curtains and the light filtered in dimly. Yoo Joonghyuk sat in a chair his leg bouncing up and down as he stared at the clock on the wall. Kim Dokja wanted to comfort him, but before he could get a word out a doctor walked in.

"I'm Lee Seolhwa, your doctor."
