Kim Dokja breathed in as he looked out the car window his house slowly came into view. He felt a mix of excitement and trepidation as they exited the car. Even though he had only been gone a couple of days it felt like a long-awaited reunion. He stepped out of the car and let out a little grunt, his legs fumbled underneath him for a moment but he found his balance. Yoo Joonghyuk pressed close to Kim Dokja as they walked towards the house together.
"You're not going to tell them are you?" Yoo Joonghyuk said his hands faltering over the door handle.
Kim Dokja grimaced "Not now." he answered. He was met by silence, Yoo Joonghyuk slowly opened the door and they immediately heard the sound of yelling.
"Just eat the damn waffles!" Han Sooyoung shoved a plate of what seemed to be a poor excuse of food at Lee Gilyoungs face.
"I'm not eating until you tell me where Hyung is!" he spat back his eyes blazing with defiance.
Han Sooyoungs face was full of frustration. "I told you he and Yoo Joonghyuk are visiting family!" she sat down the plate oblivious to the couple standing right behind them.
Lee Gilyoung turned his nose away, his eyes locked with Kim Dokjas. Kim Dokja watched as his face morphed from shock to happiness then to sadness as he rushed over to Kim Dokja. He tackled him into a tight hug completely disregarding Yoo Joonghyuk standing beside him.
"Sorry, I was gone for so long" he stroked Lee Gilyoungs head. "Have you been good?" he asked softly.
"You left without warning!" Lee Gilyoung pulled back.
"Ahjussi?" Shin Yoosung gaped down at them from upstairs. Without a moment of hesitation she ran down so fast Kim Dokja was worried she would fly off the stairs. As she approached Kim Dokja she slowed to a stop her eyes full of doubt.
"Where did you go?" she asked her voice hinting at sadness.
Kim Dokja felt a pang of guilt.
"Yoo Joonghyuk and I just went to visit some relatives." he flashed a look at Han Sooyoung hoping he got the story right. Han Sooyoung nodded back at him.
"You never called or texted though." Lee Gilyoung pouted.
"I'm sorry can you guys forgive me?"
Kim Dokja's heart ached as he looked into the eyes of Lee Gilyoung and Shin Yoosungs. He never wanted to hurt them.
"I promise I'll make it up to you, actually I was thinking that we should all go to the beach today!" he said cheerfully.
The kids immediately lit up they seemed to forget about all their sadness from just moments ago.
"Right now?" Lee Gilyoung asked.
Kim Dokja nodded. "Both of you go get ready we'll leave right away."
As soon as the kids left he glanced over at Yoo Joonghyuk. Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung were talking in hushed voices. Kim Dokja walked over to them with a weary smile on his face
"Thank you for watching the kids Han Sooyoung."
Han Sooyoung rolled her eyes. "They were a pain in the ass." she said is an annoyed tone. She looked over Kim Dokja and her expression softened. Her eyes seemed to pierce right through him as she observed him.
"I'm glad that you're back home though." Kim Dokjas's eyes widened it wasn't often when Han Sooyoung said her true thoughts.
Kim Dokja laughed lightly "Looks like the kids made you mushy." he joked earning a glare from Han Sooyoung.
"Yoo Joonghyuk already told me everything, as much as I care about you guys I don't think I can keep the kids from trying to find you when you need to leave again."
Kim Dokja fell silent he hadn't thought that far ahead yet. Yoo Joonghyuk placed a hand on Kim Dokjas's shoulder. "We'll figure something out, today's let's just forget about..that."
He could already hear the kids clamor downstairs.
"Alright everyone into the car!" Han Sooyoung clapped her hands together.

The drive to the beach wasn't long, Kim Dokja could already smell the familiar sea air. It was cooler than usual so the beach was fairly empty. As soon as they got out the kids rushed towards the beach. "It smells salty!" Shin Yoosung remarked her nose wrinkled.
Lee Gilyoung ran into the ocean "Cold!" he exclaimed shivers traveling up his body.
Shin Yoosung snickered at him and dipped her foot in. As soon as she was used to the water she joined Lee Gilyoung.
Han Sooyoung pulled out a lounging chair and a pair of sunglasses and plopped down. She flashed a grin over at Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk "Jealous?" she laid back with her arms behind her head.
Kim Dokja sighed at her childish behavior before turning back to Yoo Joonghyuk
Yoo Joonghyuk laid a blanket down on the sand and sat down, he motioned for Kim Dokja to join him.
They sat down next to each other, Kim Dokja watched fondly into the distance with a sad smile. "This is nice," he said looking up at Yoo Joonghyuk.
"It is, I'm glad we're here." he agreed.
Kim Dokja fell onto the blanket letting out a content laugh "And so peaceful, nobody else around but us!"
"You should lie down next to me." he patted the space next to him. Yoo Joonghyuk lay down next to him. "Now that I'm lying down I'm getting tired again," he said in an exasperated tone.
"Then take a nap I'll watch the kids." Yoo Joonghyuk rested his hand on Kim Dokja's chest. Kim Dokja paused for a moment.
"No, I'm going to enjoy every last minute of this."

Sorryy if the way Lee Gilyoung and Shin Yoosung refer to Kim Dokja is confusing I wasn't to sure what to put also I've been sick for the past couple days so that why updating has been slow but it should go back to normal! I keep on making plot holes but I finally made up my mind on how I want the story to end lol
Btw Kim Dokja is eating but it's like only oatmeal and yogurt since his throat is in bad condition but for the stories plot he can talk (almost) normally
