Long time no see and I have to disappoint you... this is not the most interesting chapter.

Lot of talking, lots of thinking :)

I'll try to make the next chapter a bit more interesting. More drama and all that, if you guys are up for it.

Anyways, for once I don't have any trigger warnings to hand out. So yey, go and read!

Sam felt a mixture of surprise and disappointment when he woke up the next morning to the sight of his brother and Genesis laying on the couch, their bodies entangled and both still asleep. His heart dropped, the first thought that popped in his mind was Genesis leaving them again as soon as she woke up from her night of cuddling with his brother.

That was all it had been, Sam could tell. Both were wearing their clothes, Deans feet were sticking out of the blanket spread over them and they had socks on them. Gen's arm, which was draped over the armrest of the couch, was still covered by the dark brown cardigan she'd been wearing when they found her.
Sam also took in count the fact that Dean wouldn't have sex with him in the room - he was about ninety percent sure on that one.

With a deep sigh the young man sat up, scooting to the edge of his bed. No longer wanting to stare at the odd couple, he directed his eyes into another direction. The window across his bed seemed a great thing to focus on. Watching the leaves of the tree outside rustle in the wind, the branches bending left to right... it helped Sam collect his thoughts, put them into order and sentences.

Bottom of the line was, he didn't want Genesis to leave them.

When she'd first left them, after the case with the killer clowns, Sam had been confused by his feelings. The day's he'd spent missing her, wishing for a way to convince her to come back, every case he'd hoped they'd run into her. For a brief moment he thought he'd developed a crush on her, caught feelings for the kind woman, but when he reflected on it further, he had realized that that wasn't it. Far from it actually.

Genesis just happened to be a person Sam felt connected to. In her presence he felt calm, safe even. When he spoke to her he felt like he could trust her with everything and she would listen and understand. It wasn't something Sam had ever experienced before.

Sure, he loved his brother and he would always be grateful for everything Dean had done for him, but he wasn't necessarily the guy to turn to to have heart to heart conversations with. Neither was their Dad. Sam had tried with both and failed miserably multiple times. They hadn't been raised that way, never got the chance to learn it later in life.

Maybe his mother would have been that person for him, the one to comfort him when he had troubles, the one to hold him when he couldn't take it anymore... but she wasn't around long enough to be able to do that for him.

So having Genesis around meant a lot to Sam, with her by his side he felt just a little less lost and a little more like himself. To him that was worth more than any materialistic object in this world.

And for Dean to be so careless and go on in his selfish pursuit made him mad. Seething Sam sat on his bed, balling his hands into fists until his knuckles turned white. Part of him wanted to wake Dean, yell at him. He knew his brother well enough to imagine exactly what happened during the night.

Not really how it started, but once Gen was by his side, he sweet talked her into staying with him. Sam had seen him doing it a hundred times, the charm his brother pulled out, wrapping women around his finger with an ease Sam could never imitate. Not that he tried, he rather wanted women to fall for the real him. Not like Dean, who pretended to be something he wasn't just to get laid.
