I hadn't slept at all. I didn't leave Kelly's house until almost 3 in the morning and I didn't get home until 5 a.m. I had to drive, I had to calm down.
I wasn't walking to school today, fuck that. I got dressed, grabbed my cigarettes, my lighter, and my keys.
I went to Janey's house and waited outside for her. I honked and she came out side. "How come you're not walking?" She asked me as she got in. I shook my head.
"It's a long ass story that I'll gladly tell you later." I told her as I put the car in drive.
I'm surprised Tracii didn't call her. If he did I know for a fact that Janey would have told me first thing this morning when she saw me.
When we got there we went to our lockers. "I'll come steal you in your third hour." I told her as we walked passed each other.
She nodded and I went to History. We didn't do shit in that hour or my second hour. So, when it came to the bell ringing and time to go to third hour? I walked right passed the classroom, and went to Janey's. I looked into the window of the classroom and she saw me.
She did the usual, putting her hand up and asking to use the bathroom. When she was free, we then walked to the shop room.
Sitting on our favorite table and that's when I told her everything I could. I told her about Kelly and I's argument, his lighter, Tracii calling to help Kelly, me helping Kelly and then him kissing me. Everything.
"I'm going to fucking kill him." Janey said. I shook my head. There's no point. I gave him his lighter back, I'm not talking to him anymore, it's done. Whatever the fuck it was, it's over now and that's that." I told her honestly.
"I'm sorry he turned out to be a total dick." Janey replied. I smiled a small smile. "Thanks Jane, I appreciate it." I told her.
She said of course and for the rest of third hour we sat there talking about random shit and drawing on the top of the table with sharpies.
Eventually the bell rang. Home. "Hey, so you maybe want to hangout with me and go to the whiskey tonight?" Janey asked as we were walking towards the student parking lot to my car.
I shrugged. "Why the fuck not. After everything that's gone down? That seems alright." I told her as I opened my door and we got inside.
I dropped Janey off and went home. My parents were back from their weird little spontaneous trip.
"Can I hang out with Janey tonight?" I asked when I walked into the house. They both looked at me with smiles and said yes. No questions about what we were doing, where we were going, or with who.
It was honestly weird as shit.
If you knew my parents, they were not like this.
I stared at them with furrowed eyebrows confused. Weird.
I then went to my room. I called Janey. "I can hang out. I can come get you and then we can go." I told her. She got excited and told me she would see me later.
I took a short nap. I fucking needed it. I woke up around 4 and decided it was time to go to Janey's. I grabbed some clothes, my cigarettes, lighter, and keys.
"I'm going to Janey's now." I told my parents as I was walking to the door. "All righty." My mom said from the kitchen. What the hell was up with Margie and Russell? I questioned myself.
When I got to Janey's her mom was outside gardening and said hello to me as I walked up to the door.
Janey and I were getting ready in her room. I was wearing my leather jacket, a Black Sabbath shirt that was made into a sleeveless with holes, and denim shorts and combat boots.
When we were both done, we walked out and to my car. My parents were acting more like Janey's parents right now and it was strange.
We blasted REO Speedwagon on the way to the whiskey.
As soon as we entered the bar. We ordered some shots, our drinks and made those bar stools our homes for the time being.
I was in the middle of my third drink when I watched Janey basically eye fuck some random dude from across the bar. "Be righttt back, Laurie." She said as she got up and walked over to the guy.
I watched as they talked for awhile and eventually Janey and the guy were walking my way. "This is Rodney, I'm going to his place. Byeee Laurie." Janey said.
I shook my head at my best friend. I wasn't worried about her. Janey was always safe when she went home with guys, and she never got attached so I was fine and I know my best friend would be too.
It was dangerous though. Leaving me in a bar with no friends. Just my problems, feelings, and liquor.
Couldn't help but drink copious amounts. I'm pretty sure I was on my fifth when Mony Mony by Billy Idol started playing.
"Heyyy! I know this song." I said to literally no one in particular. I got up and started dancing.
Bad decision. I was not feeling the greatest. I sat down when the song was over and ordered a beer. My head was rested on my arm and I was hopeless.
I'm going to die alone. I'm eighteen and I have No hopes, no dreams and I graduate Monday. My version of the world saying Fuck You right to my face.
This is it. Life's getting bigger and shittier everytime I breath in and out. I groaned. My beers empty. I ordered another.
Senior year wasn't bad. It just sucked when it got down to the end. I sighed as I took another sip from my beer. "Looks like 1983 isn't the year where things actually go great for Laurie Samston." I told myself.
