Monday. Fucking finally. The weekend was a shit show. Starting with my dad finding Kelly and then yelling at me a fuck ton. Safe to say he told my mom and my mom tried to calm him down but it was no use.
So, guess where I stayed the whole weekend?
"I can't believe we're graduating." Janey said as I drove to the school. I nodded. "It's crazy. Everything is fucking crazy." I told her. She agreed.
Janey and I grabbed our caps and gowns from the back of my car when I noticed a hat in the floorboard. I stared at it. It was Kelly's. From the first night he and I started hanging out.
Janey pulled me out of my thoughts when she closed the back passenger side door. I shut my door as well and we started walking into the school. All the seniors had to report to cafeteria.
Janey and I of course sat our usual table. "I hate that they make us still come here on graduation day." She said. I nodded. "You and I both."
It started off with the principal talking to us about graduation and how he was proud of all of us, then we all had to go to the football field and practice graduation.
It was hot out and the principal just had to make us wear our stupid caps and gowns for it.
After we were done we were free to do whatever until the ceremony at 2:00, so Janey and I went to our monumental place at this hell hole.
Shop 101
Room #20We were at our table. "Do you think some other pair of best friends will end up in here eventually?" Janey questioned me. I shrugged. "I have no idea. Would it be such a bad thing?" I asked.
"You're right, whoever ends up in here, they must be pretty cool." She told me. "Like ourselves." I added. Se laughed. "Yeah except their parents aren't Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne." She laughed. I joined in on it.
We both then opened the drawer to the table where we kept our markers and shit to draw on the table with. We weren't going to be here much longer, so we figured we'd write and draw more, leave behind a legacy type of thing or whatever the fuck you wanted to call it.
Here lies hopes, dreams, romance, and homework I didn't do
Is one of the things I came up.
Don't listen to Mr. Herks the history teacher, he's an ass
Is what Janey had written.
If your ever on the sunset strip in a bar or any bar in general? Don't let some random rockstar drive you home. It ends in heart break
I wrote, giving advice to the next pair of best friends destined for this table. I watched as Janey drew and arrow from what I had just wrote to a blank space.
FUCK YOU KELLY NICKELS
She wrote in all caps. I wasn't really okay with her doing that, but it did make me laugh a little.
We drew some vulgar shit that we thought was hilarious and then we both finished the table.
The Osbourne Table, proudly decorated and created by legends of utmost coolness
We both worked together to write it in all caps. She and I then sighed our names under it.
Janey (Corick) Osbourne
Laurie (Samston) Osbourne
It wasn't a known thing that she and I came her all the time, but it was a legacy, in our own way. We smiled and we eventually left the shop room.
It was wearing down to the wire for us to graduate. All of us were waiting by the bleachers. Shit was about to start any second now.
Parents, grandparents, siblings were all there. Finally though, the wait was over as the superintendent started calling names. Janey and I weren't next to each for this due to our last names being in alphabetical order which sucked.
I wasn't really paying attention that much until I noticed it was getting down to the people in front of me. Thank god. I told myself.
"Laurie Jean Samst-" The superintendent didn't get to finish my name. He was cut off by the sound of a motorcycle. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked everywhere until I saw him.
His bike was parked on the track and he was walking this way. No one said or did anything, but I did see my dad try and get up to probably fight the guy.
It was even weirder though when people actually moved out of his way for him to get onto the stage. I stood there next to the superintendent in disbelief.
Kelly walked up to me. "Kelly what the hell?" I whispered to him. He smiled. "Didn't want to miss seeing you graduate." He said with a wink. I stared at him. "Well I haven't exactly graduated yet, you kind of are causing a very weird scene." I told him honestly.
He shook his head as he moved past the principal and Superintendent, standing behind the podium and leaning against it so he could talk into the microphone.
What in the world was he doing? "Hey...I-I'm Kelly Nickels, a very selective few of you know me, most of you know Laurie Samston which leads me as to why I'm here. I may have gotten and get bad reps because my nature but I don't think that's the case. I don't appreciate that Laur is getting a bad rep because of me. But I'm here to let every single one of you people and Laurie know that I actually adore her, I love Laurie. A lot even though I've had a pretty shitty way of showing it. But I do, I love you." Kelly said to the people in the field and to me.
He was looking at me intently and I him as he walked back over to me and kissed me. Eventually we both pulled away and I cousins keep it in any longer. "I love you too. Now go sit down somewhere so I can actually graduate." I explained to him.
He nodded and kissed my cheek before he walked back off the stage and into the rows of sitting people to find a chair.
I stopped staring at him when the superintendent started my name again.
"Laurie Jean Samston"
I shook my head at the fucking crazy mess just happened and walked over to superintendent and he gave me my diploma. I heard Janey yell for me.
After I was done and graduation was over, parents and people were gathered on the track to congratulate us.
I was standing there next to Janey when Kelly came over. "That was stupid and crazy what you did." I told him. He smiled at me and shrugged. "I had to do something. I don't want anyone else." He said.
I smiled. I saw that my parents were coming over and I hoped nothing bad would happen. "Congratulations sweetie." My mom said to me with a smile. I thank her. Dad didn't say much.
"Mom, Dad. This is Kelly, Kelly Nickels."
