Lucifer turned around to see a figure in the shadows. He didn't recognize who it was at first, so he held his head up high and his horns started to grow a bit as he exposed his wings, ready to defend himself. His sclera turned scarlet red and his pupils changed from red to yellow, but quickly changed back into their normal color and hid his wings and horns when he heard the person, or better said, the cat speak.

H: "Whoa calm yourself down will you?"

L: "Husker? What are you doing up so late?"

H: "I could ask you the same thing. Aren't you supposed to be resting?"

L: "Well err...  I-I'm the king of Hell! I can do whatever I please! and I'm not THAT weak. I just got spiked, no big deal."

H: "Yeah, sure. You also got sexually harassed. No big deal."

L: "How did you-"

H: "How'd I know about you getting sexually harassed? One word. Alastor."

L: "Alastor? So I guess we was the one who knocked out Misfortune... whatever. Now answer my question."

H: "I usually wake up in the middle of the night and drink from my whiskey, But I guess you got to it first."

Lucifer looked at the bottle and then back to Husk giving him a nervous smile.

L: "Sorry... I didn't know this was yours"

H: "t's fine, I have plenty, but I thought you weren't a drinker?"

L: I'm not, I just... have a lot going through my mind..."

H: "Hmm, I see. Would you like to talk about it? I'm not forcing you, but it's always better to let those feelings out."

Lucifer looked at Husk, as he search through the cabins a drink. He looked at the whisky in hand, and then back at Husk, who was sitting near the kitchen counter drinking straight up from the bottle. He went over to the cat and sat on a chair next to the cat.

L: "Promise you wont go around telling other people about my problems? Especially Charlie? I don't want her to worry..."

H: "Don't you worry, what is told here, stays here."

Lucifer hesitated. Should he really just let all of his problems out to a common sinner? He's the king of Hell, he's supposed to be able to deal with his own problems. But on the other hand, Husk seemed like a decent guy. The first time they met he instantly liked his persona. He sighed and started to fidget with his wedding ring, as he took the whisky bottle and started drinking again. The bottle was snatched away by Husk as Lucifer gave him a glare.

H: "I'm sorry your majesty, but whisky won't solve your problems right now."

Husk was right. Lucifer sighed again as he finally gave in. He looked down at his wedding ring and fidget it.

L: "You're right... I guess... ever since my divorce with Lilith and separation from my daughter led me to a really bad stage of depression and denial. I never knew how to deal with it correctly, so I thought that staying locked in my castle would be the best decision. That's how it stayed for the past 7 years."

H: "And how did that turn out for you?"

L: "...Not so great. I started making duck of Lilith and Charlie, and soon it became a hobby of mine to make ducks every time I would think of them, and that was everyday almost 24/7. Soon after, it became an obsession."

H: "I think I sort of get it. And were you thinking of them earlier today? Is that why you decided to rely on alcohol right now?"

L: "I mean.. I guess, yeah... Honestly, I don't even know why I still love Lilith.. She left me alone for 7 whole years after I sacrifice my will and freedom in Heaven just for her, and then she dares leave Charlie alone for who knows how long!"

Lucifer explained his pain as his sclera turned scarlet red and his pupils turned yellow, small red horns starting to form. Husk gently placed his hand on Lucifer's shoulder.

H: "Calm down. Anger won't resolve anything. Take some deep breaths?"

Lucifer's gaze softened. He slowly nodded as he slowly breathed in and then out. His horns disappeared, and his eyes turned back to normal. Husk smile reassuringly, letting him know that he could continue.

L: "I don't know what to do Husker... I want to tell Charlie that me and her mother will most likely never get back together... but it's hard. I don't want to make her sad nor I want her to think bad of either of us. Hell, I don't even know if I'm fully over her!"

Husk sighed and reached over to Lucifer's hands and took his wedding ring off. Lucifer looked at Husk confused. Husk placed the ring on the palm of his hand and closed the kings hands, the retrieving his own hands.

H: "I'm telling you this from experience. The first step to get better is to let the past go."

Lucifer looked at Husk surprised. He didn't expected such wise words to come out of someone who spend his days behind a bar counter drinking. Husk got up with his bottle and started to walk away.

L: "W- Wait! Where are you going?.."

H: "I'm going back to my room and continue my nights rest. You should too. Think about what I said and maybe consider it, okay? It's best for both you and Charlie."

Husk turned back around and continued walking, leaving Lucifer in the kitchen alone. Lucifer looked at his whisky on the kitchen counter and picked it up, throwing it away. He then looked at his wedding ring in the palm of his hand.

L: "Maybe it is time to let go..."

Lucifer smiled at himself and placed the ring in his robe's pocket. He got up and teleported into his room (He was too tired to walk up to his room). He took the ring out of his pocket and placed in inside an empty drawer. He took off his slippers and changed into some more comfortable pajamas. He went up to the desk to check the time. It was 2:11 am. He looked at the desk where he had left his letter, and saw that his letter was perfectly in an envelope. He figured that was Alastor's doing. He took the envelope in his hands and teleported it in the Goetia's mail. He climbed onto the bed and closed his eyes, falling asleep instantly.
