"Guys, I genuinely don't think Nubbins has any friends," Sissy says with a small laugh, moving her body into the living room, "I just got back from going out with him, and he told me that he was seeing some friends while I did my shop. So tell me why he was just sitting in his car, around the corner drumming his fingers on the steering wheel?"
Leland looks up from where he was sitting on the couch, an eyebrow raised towards the woman as he grips the paper in his hands. He can hear Johnny snort from the other side of the room, and he was messing around with the television at the moment - for some reason it short circuited itself earlier in the day. And Johnny has taken it into his own hands to try and fix it, despite Leland telling him that they might need a new one - he didn't want to hear a bar of it. Leland tries to keep his eyes off Johnny for now, putting his focus directly onto Sissy; because if he looks over at the man who is wearing a tight white singlet - he might not hear what Sissy has got to say.
It's been almost a week now since Leland allowed himself to sleep with the man, and since that time - he's had a lot to think about. And it was mainly to do with himself, and his own jumble of feelings. His cheeks still heat up when he remembers what they did, and his heart still skips twice as much when he's around Johnny; but he can't quite put his finger on the uneasy feeling he has inside of him as well. He knows that most of it comes from his relationship with Ana, and how he feels towards her compared to Johnny; and it's really not something he should be comparing in the first place. They were both on different sides of the scale, balancing themselves out equally - while Leland was stuck in the middle, deciding on which one was going to tip when he places his foot forward.
He still kept the promise he made with her on the phone, that he would call again when he had the chance and he did. He would call her again in the afternoon, and he would speak such sweet words that he means as well, and he would let her know that he still misses her deeply. It was nothing short of the truth to him, and he still does have those feelings for her - she was his fiancé as well - but since Johnny came along, and wedged himself in between the pair. He feels like he's standing on the edge of a cliff unsure of if he should jump or not; and what could possibly be waiting at the bottom for him? He feels the wave of guilt wash through his body when the phone would hang up, and he'd find himself in Johnny's room once more - but he would never have the time to actually think on that. Because the other man would smile so bright towards him, that it nearly blinds Leland - and every other thought would fly out of the window.
At the end of the day, Leland knows how shitty he's being right now - but he also can't help the mixed feelings going through his body either. He wants to be with Johnny in this weird way, but he also wants to be with Ana as well. It's a tough crossroad, and it's one Leland isn't even sure he's going to be able to cross - but he can't have both, and he knows that.
"I could've told you that he didn't have any friends," Johnny's voice snaps Leland out of his head, and his eyes finally move towards his body - seeing how he's now crouched in front the television, "He's fucking weird, I don't even know how we put up with him."
"Oh sugar I think it's kind of sad really," Sissy hums, moving herself towards Leland this time - taking a seat right next to him, "I only made jokes that he didn't have any, I didn't think it would be true."
"Do you think he really cares?" Johnny throws over his shoulder, fiddling with some of the cords from the television, "I mean seriously Sissy, it's Nubbins. A 'friend' of his could be a dead animal on the side of the road for all we know."
"You're so mean to him," Sissy laughs, throwing her head back a little bit, "No wonder he doesn't like being around you. You just bully him."
"Not as much as you do," Johnny says, never looking towards the pair, "You will literally lock him out of the house. You do it almost every day."
