Zara woke up to the sound of footsteps approaching her room. She knew it was Lwazi before he even entered. She felt a mix of feelings of love, hate, fear,anger, hurt, and frustration. Lwazi had left her alone again without a word, and she was tired of feeling like a little thought after an event in their marriage.
When Lwazi entered the room, Zara could see the guilt in his eyes. She turned away, not wanting to look at him. He tried to explain that he had important matters to take care of, but Zara was not in the mood to listen.
She got out of bed and walked to the window, trying to calm herself down. Though their marriage was going well,she felt like a prisoner in her own marriage, trapped by duty and responsibility. Zara wanted more than just a marriage of convenience - she wanted love, respect, and understanding.
Lwazi approached her, his voice soft and full of apologies. Zara turned to face him, her eyes filled with tears. She told him how his actions had made her feel, how she wished for a partner who would be there for her, who would think about/believe her feelings before his own needs.
Lwazi listened quietly, his expression pained. He reached out to hold her hand. Zara stood up and ran to the garden just to clear her head
