Zara woke up real thirsty in the middle of the night. The moon was shining bright through the window, making everything glow a bit. She tiptoed to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

As she reached the kitchen, she saw Lwazi. He was sitting at the table with something shiny in his hands. Zara squinted to see clearly. It was a gun. And, oh no, Lwazi... he was covered in blood.

Zara's heart skipped a beat. She felt a cold shiver down her spine. Her mind raced with questions but all she could manage to ask was, "Lwazi, what happened?"

Lwazi looked up with tired eyes. His voice was calm but distant as he replied, "Zara. I had to protect our family."

Zara's head spun with worry. She took a step closer, noticing the exhaustion in Lwazi's eyes. Her mind struggled to make sense of the scene before her. What had Lwazi done? And why was he so quiet about it?

"Ngiyacela, Lwazi, uyangethusa. Tell me what's going on," Zara pleaded, her voice quivering with fear.

Lwazi took a deep breath and placed the gun on the table. He looked into Zara's eyes and said, "There was an intruder, Zara. bekufanele ngikuvikele."

Relief washed over Zara, but a trace of doubt lingered in her mind. She moved closer to Lwazi, searching his eyes for the truth. After a moment of silence, she reached out and held his hand.

"Kea u tšepa, Lwazi. Just... please, promise me you'll always be honest with me," Zara whispered, her eyes filled with both love and concern.

Lwazi squeezed her hand gently, the tension in the room easing slightly. "I promise, Zara. ngiyohlezi ngikuvikela noma kunjani," he vowed, his gaze never leaving hers
