As I sit under the shade of a large acacia tree, watching the sun set over the rolling hills of our home, my mind drifts to thoughts of Zara. My beautiful Sotho princess, my wife, my heart. We have been married for almost a year now, a union arranged by our families to bring peace between our tribes. And yet, as I look at her now, laughing with the children in the village square, I can't help but feel a deep longing in my chest.

Zara and I had a traditional wedding. It was a celebration unlike any other, a day I will never forget. But lately, a new idea has been taking root in my mind - the idea of a white wedding. A ceremony unlike anything our tribes have ever seen, a day to declare our love in front of the gods and all our people.

I watch as Zara twirls in her brightly colored dress, her laughter ringing out like music in the air. She catches my eye and smiles, her dark eyes sparkling with mischief. I can see the question in her gaze, the same question that has been weighing on my mind for weeks now.

"Zara," I say, as she walks over to where I am sitting. "Do you ever think about having a white wedding?"

Her eyes widen in surprise, and then a slow smile spreads across her face. "I have," she admits, sitting down beside me. "I have dreamed of wearing a white gown, of walking down the aisle towards you, of saying our vows in front of everyone we love."

I take her hand in mine, feeling the warmth of her skin against mine. "I want that too, Zara. I want to show the world how much I love you, how grateful I am to have you by my side."

She leans her head against my shoulder, her hair tickling my neck. "Then let's do it, Lwazi. Let's have a white wedding, a day that will be remembered for generations to come."

And as the sun dips below the horizon, casting the sky in shades of pink and gold, I know in my heart that this is just the beginning of our love story. Together, Zara and I will create a future filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that transcends all boundaries.
