Two days later, the couple's stolen car was spotted outside The Roadside Motor Court in Buxston. The sheriff, overjoyed to see three pickup trucks and an old sedan drive up, began to formulate a plan of attack around the small cluster of twelve single-room houses.
"We ain't gonna wait till sunup," the old man said. "We gonna use the element of surprise. I ain't worried about lettin' them two know we're out here. They done killed three folks in Oklahoma. One of 'em was a cop. So, they done forfeited any right to a howdy-do. We gonna go in shootin' 'n ask questions later. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, Sheriff," the men quietly said.
