The look in the lawyer's eyes signaled Enos that this was the moment Enos had been dreading with every fiber of his being.
"Well," Abraham said. "Enough small talk. What's it gonna be? You gonna divorce Briony, and let her go with me and keep the farm and extra acreage? Or not?"
Abraham looked back at the Earth.
This must be how a fish feels when it bites the bait on the hook and feels the inescapable tug of the line being reeled in to sure Death and destruction, Enos thought.
