40 The Cinderella Shoe

10 3 2

Into the world I was born.
A girl who always had to serve.
With every blow of the horn,
I gather up enough nerve.

Yes, you can say whatever you like.
It doesn’t matter to me at all.
And when you return for a second strike,
You won’t ever see me fall.

Into this world I have entered.
A girl who will always get what she deserves.
With every bow of the belwildered,
I’ll rise to up power with no reserves.

Of their laws I once was victim,
But here I am the Queen.
No more a subject without decorum,
Now those about me who are keen,
Watch me as I preen.

Imagine the things possible,
For a girl who uses her brain.
A glass slipper left behind is probable,
That single act began my rein.

And into this world I was sent,
A girl from over the rainbow.
For here I am to prevent,
The  single shot of an arrow.

Through the woods and into the light,
You will see the dancing and the merry making,
Burning in the firelight, just as bright.
Through peace out land we will be taking,
And returning things they way they were as we all set it right.

I’m not here because of the glass shoe.
A fickle maiden’s accessory, that had shattered in two.
Got myself a supple slipper,
Reliability isn’t for you.

Now, softly I walk along the shadows
Helping whomever I can.
Dressed as a girl from the Meadows,
You’ll see me with a tan.

Oh, don't ever assume,
For even a single minute.
That everything about me you presume,
Is even close to the truth down to the last digit.

Into this city I walk,
Bold and bright burn the lights.
As millions gather to listen to me talk,
About their freedom and their rights.
