However long it took. Su-Hyeok was always there and when he watched her pass out he couldn't help but worry a bit more than when she was awake. Shifting a bit as he sighed in relief when the arrow was out. "Will she be okay?" He asked.
Joon-Yeong listened before nodding. "Hopefully yes. The worst that can happen is blood loss but thankfully the arrow didn't fully go through her leg. She was overwhelmed with the pain. It's normal since we don't have anything to numb the pain. We should let her rest for now." He spoke.
Su-Hyeok nodded as he knew that was the best choice for them to do now that they had done what they could to at least stop the bleeding for now. Heading back to the others with Cheong-San as they regrouped.
"How is she?" Gyeong-Su asked the two since Joon-Yeong had stayed back to keep watch on her.
"She's sleeping and recovering. It might be a while." Su-Hyeok spoke. "What are you guys doing?"
"We need to make a fire." Sung-Hoon spoke as he was focused on his sister from a far distant in fear that he would lose control from his zombie urges and bite into her. Something he was scared of. It was something he didn't like about his new self. He couldn't help it though. She gave off a different smell compared to the others.
Nam-Ra noticed his gaze glancing toward her best friend as she watched her too. Seeing the green sweater fabric around her leg and being stained with blood that was soaking through. She could smell the sweet scent coming from her as she chose to resist.
Joon-Yeong listened about the fire as he glanced around before getting Dae-Su and Woo-Jin to help him get the wood laying around and forming a small camp.
"How do we get fire?" Woo-Jin asked.
"Well.. we could try to use Joon-Yeong's glasses and the sun to burn a fire into the wood.."
"No way. That won't work." Joon-Yeong spoke up.
Dae-Su huffed before grabbing two sticks as he rubbed them against one another in an attempt to make a small fire for the group.
Nam-Ra watched the others trying to figure something out before slipping her hand into her skirts pocket as she felt a small sense of relief that she had somehow still had the lighter in her pocket. Taking it out before walking over. Holding it out to them. "Here." She spoke.
Su-Hyeok listened as he glanced over to see the lighter in her hand before being confused as he wanted to ask why she had one until someone else beat him to ask her the question.
"Why do you have a lighter?"
Nam-Ra listened as she listened before giving a small smile. "I um.. I used to come out for a smoke once in a while with Min-Jung before all of this." She spoke.
It was a shock to the group that the quiet girl who studied for most of the school day could do such activities like that.
Su-Hyeok was a bit amused before taking the lighter from her and using it to make the small fire. Handing it back to her as he got up. Thanking her for the lighter before walking towards his girlfriend as he was gentle in picking her up before walking back. Sitting in a circle with the others around the fire.
Holding his girlfriend closer to the warmth of the fire as he made sure that he didn't hurt her leg anymore than it already was.
Min-Jung quietly stayed unconscious at the moment from the pain she had felt. Feeling the warmth even in her state.
Cheong-San sat with them for the meantime and enjoyed the warmth coming off from the fire. "How is she?" He asked.
Su-Hyeok listened before glancing into the fire. "I think she's going to be fine. Luckily the arrow was a clean one and didn't have any zombie blood on it so we won't have to worry about that." He spoke.
"That's good to hear. I didn't mean for her to be a target for him."
"It wasn't your fault." Su-Hyeok spoke.
"How will we make it out of here?" Ji-Min asked. "She won't be able to run and we can't be slowed down." She spoke.
On-Jo listened before speaking up. "We can't just leave her behind. We've all made it this far along and she is still alive. Are we really going to risk her being left behind?" She asked.
"We are not leaving her." Su-Hyeok spoke sternly.
"We can't risk being caught ourselves." Ji-Min spoke up. "Who's on my side? We need to focus on making it out without any slowness or weight bringing down the group."
On-Jo listened before shaking her head. "Ji-Min.. we can't just kick her out for her wound. She was trying to help us."
"It's not my fault she got hurt." Ji-Min spoke.
"Hey!" Sung-Hoon fummed at her. "You're only still alive because she was able to keep zombies down. She doesn't have to shoot them down but she does. She's helped this group stay alive."
"It's not.. her fault." Min-Jung mumbled as she had woken up to their bickering back and forth. Shifting a bit before pausing as she winced at her leg. "But I can hold my own weight. If you want to leave me behind then you can. I will do what I can to keep up." She added as she sat up a bit.
"You should rest." Hyo-Ryung spoke quietly.
"I'm fine. It's just a small wound."
"There's nothing small about a wound like that." Woo-Jin scolded her. "Lay back down."
"It's not a big deal. I can still help. I have a few arrows left. My hands still work. I may not be fast but I can still use my arrows."
"Don't worry about that." Sung-Hoon spoke up. "Your wound will probably take a while to heal in these conditions so take it easy until we can get some real help." He added.
"You guys are worrying about it too much. I am really alright." Min-Jung spoke lightly.
"He's right." Su-Hyeok spoke. "It was a deep stab that he gave you with that arrow so we have to be careful and keep it away from anything that might cause an infection or anything contaminated with blood." He rubbed her back gently.
Min-Jung quietly listened as she gave a small nod and gave into him. "Alright then. I will take this seriously and be more careful."
Nam-Ra sat besides her as she reached over before holding her hand. "You scared me when that happened. If it had been worse.."
"It's okay Nam-Ra. It would take more than an arrow to the leg to get rid of me." A teasing tone in her voice as she tried to make light of the situation and lighten the mood.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Joon-Yeong asked as he glanced at her.
"I am. I did aim at him and it probably angered him more than he was already mad." The teen spoke as she let out a small sigh. "I didn't think about what would happen. I knew that he was.. different from the other zombies but it slipped my mind. It was my fault. I was careless about my move against him and he took his chances against me." She spoke as she was calm. Too calm for the position she was in but perhaps she had accepted her fate by now. This was a new world they were inhabiting after all. It was hard enough to run from room to room as it was. "But I owe you one Joon-yeong. For helping me."
"I-it was nothing.." He replied a bit flustered.
