I sit at the bar staring after Max who just left me.
I turn around and chug my drink. Leaving the glass at the bar before I get up to report back to Tom who is not where I left him, probably wandering around doing his own silly thing.
I sit down on the chair my back facing the piano behind me, thinking about how it came to this
I turn around and place my fingers on the dusty keys and start making up a rhythm

"Already on a new hit?" Tom says catching me
"You can't call it a hit before its even finished" I chuckle and turn around on the chair
"You and me got something... I wonder who thats about" Tom laughs at me
"Listen, I didn't think it was gonna be anything but he invited me for dinner at his place" I tell Tom and he shakes his head
"Listen I'm not gonna lecture you but since Im older im gonna tell you something you will eventually understand... you shouldn't go head over heels for someone that quickly, I might be wrong maybe you and mystery person are meant to be but we sadly don't live in romance books" he tells me
"I know but after Theo I just need this to be good. I need a win" I tell him
"Well, then go for it, if you're convinced he's the one I'll have your back" Tom says
"I will see after tomorrow, if it really is something serious" I tell him with a smile
"You know as an only child, you're to closest thing I got to having a little brother. I gotta protect you from things I've experienced" Tom says getting emotional as he sits down next to me
"Don't get emotional on me now, I haven't even started telling you about my trauma" I make fun of him
"Im not, im just impressed of how far you've come. I still remember when you got your first guitar and now you are performing in-front of Billionaires" he tells me
"Quite insane when you say it like that... I had great support for it tho. You are a great big brother" I tell him with a grin
"If your goal is to get me emotional its working" Tom says faking wiping a tear out of his eye
"Its true tho, I wouldnt be where I am today without you" I give him a nudge
"You did that by yourself, I just gave you a push in the right direction. I didnt even help with your first hit that made it on the charts" he says full of pride
"you helped with writing Greedy and all my other songs, which really started my career" I tell him and get up from the chair "how about we get out of here, hit a pub or something?"
"no, you go figure out if you and mystery man are actually going to happen. Im going to look around the place, its not often we get invited to a Billionaire party. If thats alright with you" Tom responds and I look at him confused
"you sure about that? I will see him tomorrow anyways"
"just go" he says laughing at me
"I dont even know if he is still around, I dont want to bother him" I reply
"Dylan I swear to god, get out there and talk with him" he says sounding quite threatening
"okay okay, no need to get aggressive" I shake my head and walk out of the room, back into the hall filled with the large amount of people and make my way through them, searching for some other drivers I can recognise. I stand infront of the doors leading to the garden, having no luck.
"Dylan" I hear someone say my name, sadly its not the voice of a person I was looking for
I turn around to see where to voice is coming from
"Arthur? what are you doing here?" I ask him, when I was dating Theo he was always joining us with parties and little adventures, together with Ollie, Dennis and Vesti.
"I got invited obviously" he chuckles
"oh yeah right, I forgot about that"
"where have you been? I missed you at the post race parties all year" he asks me and I dont know how to respond. none of them knew that Theo and I dated, we strictly played it off as being best friends
"I ehm... you know... I had stuff to do" I stutter
"alright... but I will be seeing you at the next party right? It wasnt the same without you" he tells me which is really nice to hear someone say that
"I dont know... I got a lot of stuff going on with releasing music, so I cant really promise you anything" I tell him and we walk outside together
"that really sucks... I really enjoyed spending time with you" he tells me as we wander around in the garden
"you did? I always thought you were mad I showed up so often" I reply honestly and sit down at one of the benches
"no I really enjoyed your company, you got this completely different vibe then the other guys"
"you got to stop flattering me man, I will start blushing" I smile at him, hes dressed up with a suit and tie
"hey, its all true" he says and sits down next to me "I just didnt like that you and Theo were so close, Id love to have had more one on one conversations with you... just like this one"
"oh..." I say surprised "You have my number, you couldve just texted me" I remind him
"I know, I just didnt want to seem desperate to get your attention" he tells
"you know that we are friends too right? Theo has nothing to do with that, If you want to like go for a coffee or whatever you can always just ask" I respond
"I guess I was just nervous, you know" he says and I raise an eyebrow
"nervous about what? I dont bite, you and I have talked so many times" I joke around
"well... nervous about spending time alone with you I guess?"
"why that? did I say something?" I ask him concerned
"no its just that I like you" he says
"oh I like you too Arthur, wh-" I say but he interupts me
"No I like you in a more then a friend kind of way" he corrects it
"ohhh..." I say shocked, not knowing how to react
"Im sorry, I know I read it wrong. you are obviously not gay" He apologises
"no no you read that right its just... I just dont know if I can date anyone at the moment" I tell him and he sits back down
"oh... why is that?" he asks me
"A bad break up... Im slowly getting better but I just need time" I tell him, which is true I really want to not rush into another relationship again. Plus I wanna know what happens with Max first.
"Im sorry you went through that, It must have been though hiding your relationship and breakup infront of everyone... Just know Im here for you alright" he says and puts his hand on my hand which gives me a weird but good feeling inside.
"Thanks Arthur, I appreciate it. I will think about it okay? I like you too but I dont know if its in that way." I tell him with a genuine smile
"take as long as you need, I can wait" He tells me full of understanding
"Thank you... I should get going, Im getting really tired and its been a long day" I tell him looking at his hand on mine, somehow not wanting to break that connection
"Oh yeah, I will text you?" he asks me worried about my response as he removes his hand
"Id like that, thank you Arthur" I smile at him and make my way back inside, wrapping my head around the situation
"Dylan, come here! you should join us" I hear a man with a dutch accent shout as I step inside
God please just give me a break...
