Jennie finished serving dinner for two and headed towards the living room, where Lisa was still playing with Sam. As the girl leaned her elbows on the door frame, a small smile touched her lips. Jennie watched as her son happily played with his potential nanny.

They were sitting on the floor. Sam held dinosaur figurines in his hands, pretending that the animals were running on the floor. Jennie covered her mouth with her hand so as not to laugh and give herself away prematurely when she realized that her son was slowly but surely approaching Lisa. A few seconds later he was sitting, pressed tightly against the blonde's side. Jennie was even more surprised when the boy climbed onto Lisa's lap and pressed his back to her chest.

The fact that the blonde didn't say anything, allowing the child to do what he wanted, shocked Jennie even more.

"Who is this?"  the blonde asked quietly, stroking the baby's leg and gently hugging him with her arms.

"This is Tricetops," he answered. Jennie smiled widely.

"Triceratops," Lisa corrected him gently.

"That's what I said," Sam muttered, taking the dinosaur from the girl's hands. "And Rex eats it."

"Really?"

"Yes, because Rex is a predator," Sam nodded confidently. "Which means he eats meat."

Jennie laughed at the same time as Lisa, unable to contain herself any longer. Turning and meeting the gaze of the girl who stood in the doorway and watched them, Lisa smiled.

"Jennie , did you know that Rex is a predator?" Lisa asked with a wink.

"Actually I knew," Jennie answered. "He only eats meat."

"I think you should say thank you," Sam intervened. His small hand reached out and lightly poked the blonde's chin.

"For what?" Lisa caught his hand.

"Because I teach you something new," he said in a voice as if it were self-evident.

"Taught me," Jennie and Lisa corrected him at the same time.

Sam took a deep breath and rolled his big caramel eyes. Lisa laughed and carefully moved the baby from her lap to the floor, among the other dinosaurs. The boy immediately grabbed a couple of figures and continued to play with them on his own. This gave Lisa the opportunity to get up and approach Jennie .

"He has problems with the endings of words," Jennie explained, chuckling, as soon as Lisa approached her.

"He's only three," Lisa shrugged. "He will still learn. I had a brother who didn't speak at all until he was four years old, and a sister who was already chattering like a parrot at two years old. It's different with every child. There are no hard and fast rules here, you know?"

Jennie nodded, continuing to watch her son.

"He is usually very shy with strangers. But he seems to like you. I am surprised."

"Hah," Lisa joked. "Are you saying I'm unattractive?"

Jennie just grinned, shaking her head. She didn't understand Lisa Manobal at all, but the more she was around her, the warmer she felt, despite their obvious differences. Jennie didn't want to say it out loud yet, but it seemed like Lisa was perfect for the job.

Sam accepted her and even climbed onto her lap. This meant that Lisa was a good person. And with your head on your shoulders. Jennie liked the girl's determination and honesty, even if it sometimes confused and baffled her.

Sometimes you should trust children, they feel people better. And Sam clearly approved of the girl.

Lisa leaned against the opposite side of the door and watched Sam, occasionally allowing herself to glance at the woman next to her. She already liked this baby. He was charming, and they had already found a common language, all that remained was to find a common language with his mother.
