Jennie woke up to a tickling sensation on her face. Without opening her eyes, she wrinkled her nose and shook her head a few times. But the sensation didn't go anywhere. Raising her hand to brush it off, Jennie came across a small hand. Gently squeezing the thin wrist with her fingers, she opened her eyes and saw her son's face. He was lying on her bed, curled up in a ball beside her. His caramel eyes were wide open. As soon as Jennie looked up at him, the boy laughed out loud.

Sam rarely woke up before Jennie did, but if he did, he would climb up on his mum's bed and tickle her nose until she woke up.

The brunette smiled and tickled her son's belly in return, which made him squirm and laugh even louder.

" Hi, Mom!"  Sam said, having regained his breathing, and sat comfortably on his mother's shoulder.

"Good morning, kitten," she answered, stroking her son's soft brown hair.

" It's time to get up and go to grandma!"  Sam said joyfully.

The woman raised her eyebrows in surprise and looked at the clock on the bedside table. Bright red numbers showed her the beginning of eight in the morning. Mentally groaning, Jennie turned to her son and shook her head, smiling.

" Today is Sunday, baby. Mom doesn't work on Sundays, remember?"

" So, just you and me?"  he asked with wide eyes. The boy's smile grew even wider, which filled Jennie's heart with joy. Sam adored his grandparents, but without a doubt, his mother was his favorite person in the world, and he always enjoyed spending time with her. Therefore, weekends were his favorite days, especially Sundays.

On Sundays, the two of them always went out of the house. Jennie took Sam to museums, parks, art galleries, even sometimes to Broadway shows, if the theme of the play allowed. The boy, of course, didn't understand much yet, but he loved the music, dancing, and singing of the performers. After she took him to see the musical "The Lion King" one day, the boy talked about it for a month.

It wasn't exactly typical entertainment for a three-year-old, but Jennie wanted her son to be well-educated, knowledgeable about art, history, science, nature and different cultures. She wanted Sam to be interested in something other than children's toys and cartoons, although the boy had plenty of that too. Sam really enjoyed spending time with his mum, whether it was a walk through Central Park or a trip to an art gallery. He especially liked anything that had to do with Ancient Egypt.

The boy was interested in everything from real mummies of pharaohs to myths and legends of the ancient civilisation.

"Just you and me," Jennie confirmed with a smile.

"Where are we going today, Mum?" clapped his hands together.

"Where would you like to go today, Sam?" getting out of bed, Jennie asked with a smile and extended her hand to her son.

The boy rolled to the edge of the bed and, clinging to his mother's hand, climbed down from the bed to the floor.

" I want to see dinosaur bones!" he exclaimed, moving a little to the side, giving his mother the opportunity to make the bed.

"Oh, of course," the brunette laughed.

" Can?"

" Of course you can, Sam. Let's have breakfast, get dressed and go, okay?"

" Yes!"  Sam enthusiastically threw his small fist into the air and quickly ran towards the kitchen.

The girl only laughed softly and followed her son.

Jennie was just buckling Sam's car seat in the car when her mobile phone rang. Finished, she pulled out the phone and rolled her eyes as she looked at the screen. It was Jisu calling. No doubt her friend was calling to find out how last night's date had gone. Jennie would rather just never think about it again in her life.
