"Are you going to fly out of this car like a torpedo as soon as it stops?"

"Yes."

"It's noticeable," Chaeyoung grinned. "You're on pins and needles."

"Yes."

"And apparently you're even enjoying it."

"Yes," smiled Lisa .

As soon as the cab stopped, Manobal threw small bills to her friend and jumped out of the car. Shaking her head and chuckling, the Australian paid the driver and got out. Once around the house and in the backyard, Lisa immediately found Jennie looking at her. Quietly creeping up to the brunette, the student sharply squeezed her waist with her hands. A low shriek sounded.

"Yes!" grinned Manobal contentedly, enclosing the girl in a hug.

Laughing, Jennie turned in the blonde's ring of arms and put her arms around her neck.

"Hello to you too," she whispered, kissing the student on the cheek.

"Hi," Lisa whispered softly, nuzzling her nose into the curve of the girl's neck, inhaling her favorite scent and pulling the brunette even tighter against her.

"Judging by your hug, you missed me a lot," smiled Jennie.

"Even a blind man could see that," Chaeyoung put in, walking over to them and placing a small box with the rest of Sam's gifts on a separate table. The Australian decided to give the boy dinosaur puzzles. She knew from her neighbor's stories that the boy loved dinosaurs and was quite smart, so she hoped that Sam would like her gift.

"Chaeyoung," Kim greeted her warmly, trying to put one arm around the girl because Lisa still refused to let go. "I'm so glad you could make it."

"And I'm very happy to be here," Chaeyoung bowed jokingly . "Thank you for the invitation. And you'll probably regret inviting her at the end of the night," the girl nodded at her friend, who was still hugging the brunette tightly. "She's clinging to you like a leech, and she won't let go the whole party."

"You're just jealous," Manobal muttered into Jennie's hair.

"Jealous? Of a leech!" the Australian woman wrinkled her nose squeamishly. "Don't make me laugh."

Lisa was about to make a dignified reply when there was a deafening squeal:

"LISA!"

Sam raced across the green lawn toward them. As he ran up, he clung to the blond's leg as tightly as she'd hugged his mom.

"Sam!" Lisa finally let go of Jennie and leaned over to be level with the boy. "Hey, boy. Happy birthday to you!"

Sam smiled and laughed.

"Let's go!" he commanded.

"Where shall we go?"

"I want to meet you with my friends," the boy excitedly explained.

"Introduce her to your friends," Jennie corrected him. "You want Lisa to meet your friends."

"That's what I said," Sam waved his mother off impatiently. "Come on!

"Okay, kid," the student replied. "But first I want you to meet a friend of mine."

"Do you have a friend here?" the boy asked in surprise.

Lisa nodded toward Chaeyoung.

"Her name is Chaeyoung and she's my best friend."

Sam's eyes squinted suspiciously.

"Except for you, of course," the girl quickly added, trying to stave off the storm.

Sam smiled shyly and looked at Chaeyoung again. Lisa patted him on the back encouragingly. She knew he was a little shy the first time he met new people, and she wanted him to like Chaeyoung.
