"But I'm not tired,"  Sam snorted, fidgeting in bed. Pouting his plump lips, the boy looked at Lisa with puppy dog eyes. But the girl only laughed in response and tickled his stomach.

"Okay, stop looking at me through the eyes of the cat from Shrek," said the blonde.  "It doesn't work on me. You should have fallen asleep ten minutes ago. So come on, calm down. It's time for the boys, who are not tired, to sleep."

However, Sam did not calm down and continued to sulk.

"But you won't go to bed!" The little boy was cranky.

Lisa laughed. Even though he was capricious, the boy still continued to be very sweet.

"Yes, I'm not going to bed. It's because I'm an adult. When you become an adult, you will decide when to go to bed."

"Why can't I just sit with you?" Sam didn't give up.  "I'll be very quiet, I promise."

Lisa sighed and lay down on the bed next to the boy, who immediately crawled up to her and laid his head on her chest. The blonde hugged his shoulders.

"Let's do this," she said.  "I'll lie here with you until you fall asleep. Agree?"

The girl hoped that if she just lay next to him for a few minutes, the child would fall asleep. She could see that Sam was tired, even if he himself said otherwise. Over the past hour, the guy had been yawning and rubbing his eyes repeatedly. Sam nodded and muttered quietly:

 "Fine."

After thinking a little, Lisa pulled out a mobile phone from her jeans pocket.

"Do you want to take some photos?"  she cheerfully suggested to the boy who was almost falling asleep.

Sam rubbed his eyes and turned his head.

"Dude, look at the camera," the girl said and tickled the boy. When he laughed, Lisa pressed the button and took a photo, hoping that the light coming through the door from the hallway would be enough to show their faces.  "Now smile again,"  the boy smiled widely, raising his head a little, and then immediately fell again on the girl's chest.

"Do you want to sleep, baby?" Lisa whispered.

"Mmm," an unintelligible muttering was her answer.

After a few seconds, the boy's breathing became deep and calm. The little hand twitched a little, clutching the girl's shirt tighter against his chest. Lisa smiled and looked at the phone screen. At the sight of the picture, the girl's heart melted. Sam's chubby cheeks were flattened against her chest, his unruly hair sticking up ridiculously on the top of his head, and the boy's fingers gripped tightly into the collar of her shirt. This would now be her favourite picture. Sam had quickly become her favourite. He was the cutest little boy she had ever seen, and beyond smart. Lisa loved spending time with him.

Pressing a button, she set that picture as the screensaver on her phone. Then, carefully releasing herself from the boy's grasp, Lisa stood up and, kissing him on the top of his head, quietly left his room, closing the door behind her.
