It had been almost two weeks since Lisa and Jennie had last seen each other. Jennie had been swamped with work. She had some very important meetings to attend. And Lisa was busy with her studies, her final exams were just around the corner. They both missed each other, but there was no opportunity to meet. The only thing that saved them were phone calls and messages. Every free minute they texted or called each other. The topics of conversation were both something serious and something silly. But even that made them closer to each other.
The lesson is so boring.
What's your date now, sweetheart?
Literature. Not the most interesting subject, because the professor chooses the books himself. Some particularly <classic> works are beyond my comprehension.
I see your point, although some of the classics are great.
Uh-huh, and the professor's voice is so monotonous it makes it even worse. If I had a chisel right now, or at least a teaspoon, I'd start digging a hole in the wall and thinking of a plan to escape from this prison.
There are only a few school days left.
You're right, but then it's on to graduate school and new lectures.
Well, it was your decision, dear.
You know, I could use your insight right now more than playing devil's advocate.
I get it. I was just about to write that your lectures are terrible. And, of course, I'd help you with your escape plan if I were with you.
There, that's much better.
Sometimes Jennie would send Lisa pictures of Sam, or pictures of them together, telling her funny stories about what had happened to the baby in the past few days. Lisa laughed hard when she got one of the pictures, where Sam's hair was sticking out in all directions and her face was covered with black stuff.
Jennie, are you hiding a batman baby in your house?
I just let Sam draw with her hands. And this is the result. He calls himself a savage and acts like a caveman.
Аha! Amazing. This guy's got a great imagination. I love him.
He really has a wild imagination. Now he is asking me to make him <clothes out of leaves>.
Do it. Do it. DO IT! And be sure to send me pictures.
When she got the pictures, Lisa laughed even harder. Not only Sam's face was smeared with black paint, but his arms, legs, and stomach. The boy was wearing only a loincloth made of green leaves cut from paper and glued to fabric. A happy smile shone on his face.
Oh, my God, it's amazing! If only I could see him live right now.
Do you want to come over?
I can't. Chaeyoung and I are preparing our joint report. It's huge. But I wish I could. I missed you guys.
We miss you, too. Savage and I are making a paper fire. Learn, honey.
Sometimes they would just talk about their feelings for each other, and those conversations could go on for hours.
I love you, Lisa.
I love you more.
That's impossible.
It's very possible.
