Lisa literally burst into her dorm room. Her heart was pounding frantically in her chest. Shaken by the loud slam of the front door, Lisa put her wallet and sunglasses, which she had borrowed from Jennie that morning, on the small table at the entrance. Only now did she notice that she wasn't alone in the room. Manobal looked around the room with a blank stare and began to walk from one end to the other. Back and forth. Back and forth...
"Lis," Chaeyoung muttered, watching her roommate's strange and slightly amused behavior. "What's on your mind, buddy?"
"I love her," Lisa blurted out as she continued to walk around the room, shaking her head, shoving her hands in her pockets and running them through her golden mane of hair.
"Say that again," the Australian asked. The girl had not yet fully recovered from their night at the bar the night before. Sitting up on the bed, she reached for the remote to turn off the TV, which was showing a rerun of One Tree Hill. Rubbing her eyes and yawning, the brunette mumbled.
"I think I need coffee. Will you wait for me to brew it, or are you already at peak panic? Even though it's almost five pm, we can skip the coffee and go straight to the shots."
Chaeyoung grinned at her own words, but Lisa didn't even seem to hear her.
"Jennie!" the blonde whispered as she continued pacing back and forth, eyes wide open as if in a trance. "Jennie," she repeated. "I love her."
"Yeah," Chaeyoung shrugged. She was amused by her friend's behavior. And then something clicked in her head. "I don't mean to sound like an insensitive brute, but, Lisa... Okay, uh."
"No, no, no, no," Manobal interrupted, walking quickly to her neighbor's bed and sitting down abruptly on the bed. Panic read in her gaze. "I mean, I love, I love her, Chaeyoung. I'm 99,999, heck, I'm 100% sure I'm in love with her."
The Australian watched the blonde in silence.
"Yes," the brunette replied simply, though the corners of her lips trembled in a slight smile.
"And that's it?" Manobal threw her hands up in the air. "I tell you I'm in love with Jennie Kim, and all I get is a yes?!"
"Well," Chaeyoung said thoughtfully. "I guess we'll go back to my original answer, though, yes . That's the best for the situation."
Lisa stared at her friend, but she laughed, so cute was the expression on the blonde's face at that moment.
"You knew?" Lisa asked, shoving her roommate in the shoulder. "You knew how I felt before I even felt it myself? How is that even possible?"
"Well, mate, that's probably because I have eyes," the girl teased her. "Also common sense and excellent deductive powers," the Aussie laughed out loud, and Lisa slapped her on the shoulder again. "Ouch!" Chaeyoung playfully punched her friend back. "Don't hit me just because I know you better than you know yourself."
"And how long have you known this?" asked Manobal.
Before answering, Chaeyoung relaxed back on the pillow and pulled the blanket almost to her chin.
"Let me see," she began playfully. "Ever since I heard <Jennie and I are just friends>!"
Lisa laughed nervously. When she calmed down, she covered her face with her hands tiredly.
"Jesus," the blonde moaned. "What am I supposed to do?"
"What do you mean, do what?" Cheyoung lightly kicked the girl with her foot. "Keep doing what you're doing. love this woman.
"But..."
"No," the Australian girl blurted out, shaking her head emphatically. "There's no <but>, Lisa. I know you always want to instinctively run away from all those horrible and frightening things people call <feelings>, but don't you dare do it. Don't do anything, you know? Just because you've realized your feelings for Jennie, don't suddenly start acting differently or anything weird like that. Just be yourself. That's the whole point, buddy."
