"It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages." —Friedrich Nietzsche

A MONTH HAD PASSED since Aaron had began getting investigated.

Aaron was away on a college campus case in Arizona.

Amelia had just gotten off the phone with her doctor.

She didn't want to jinx anything and she would wait until Aaron returned home but her period was two weeks late.

She thought of all the chances of her being pregnant. All roads led her to a big smile on her face.

Though Aaron was having a lot of trouble at work he still made time for Amelia and the family they wanted to have.

Amelia still couldn't help but miss him. He had been gone for around five days.

She paused when her phone began ringing in her pocket.

She didn't recognize the caller ID. So she watched it ring.

The call ended before the phone buzzed again this time it was her husband.

Amelia answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Amelia, hey honey." Aaron sounded relieved to speak with her.

"Hey babe, what's up?" She asked.

"Nothing much, we just landed, but I got a call from Strauss to meet with her immediately." He spoke disappointingly.

"Did something happen?" Amelia wondered what could have happened to send Aaron to the principals office again.

"The case wasn't an easy one, me and Jason had an idea and it worked but it didn't end exactly how we wanted it to."

"I'm sorry honey." Amelia knew some of what he meant by that. Someone had died.

"Yeah, I'm sorry too." Aaron paused before he continued. "I just wanted to hear your voice before I meet with Strauss. I'll see you tonight?"

"Yeah you will, I'm ordering in if that's okay."

"That's perfect honey, I love you."

"I love you too." Amelia spoke before the call dropped she sighed. Wondering how his conversation with Strauss was going to go.
